Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by English rock band The Moody Blues, released in November 1967 by Deram Records. With its fusion of classical and rock elements, it has been cited as one of the first examples of progressive rock. The album's music features psychedelic rock ballads by singer-songwriter and guitarist Justin Hayward, Mellotron played by keyboardist Mike Pinder and orchestral interludes by the London Festival Orchestra. The band and the orchestra only actually play together during the last part of "Nights In White Satin." Days of Future Passed reached number 27 in the UK Albums Chart and number 3 in the US in 1972 Billboard chart.

Its music includes virtuoso, researched, complicated, ever evolving themes, full of breaks and instrumental developments where the keyboards player could show his talent on Hammond organ, synthesizers, harpsichord, piano and Mellotron. By the profusion of its themes and the numerous melodies which compose it, Trace's music is close to ELP. and Yes.

ritish hard rock heroes BLUE BLUD had it all - the hooks, the look, the material and a decent record deal. Things don't always work out and what should have been a hugely popular band were instead relegated to a cult following. The problem? They were British but sounded (very) American. The Brits had had enough of that and wanted more "territorial sounding bands" shall we say. The Americans had all the American sounding bands they needed. The Japanese fell head over heels in love. When multiple tours and albums that sold respectable weren't quite enough the quintet called it a day and went about their lives. Drummer, Paul Sutcliff spent some time digging through boxes and closets and discovered old demos that never saw the light of day, the limited 'Liquor & Poker' tapes as well as the previously unheard track, "In Love And War.'

Initially playing blues rock, the band soon developed it's sound to incorporate elements of British folk music and hard rock to forge a progressive rock signature. Jethro Tull has sold over 60 million albums worldwide, with 11 gold and five platinum albums among them. Includes the tracks "Living In The Past," "Locomotive Breath," "Aqualung" and more.

The crown jewel in Apple/EMI’s extensive 2010 John Lennon remasters series, Signature Box contains all of the solo studio albums Lennon released during his lifetime (minus the trio of experimental duet LPs with Yoko Ono released on Apple and Zapple), his first posthumous album Milk and Honey, a disc of non-LP singles, a disc of home demos, but not the 2010 showcase item Double Fantasy Stripped Down, which is available only as a bonus on the indvidual reissue of Double Fantasy. It is, in other words, close enough to complete to perhaps invite a little bit of quibbling about what is absent – Live Peace in Toronto could fit in nicely with this batch and there are outtakes from Menlove Ave missing but the real niggling comes with the home demo disc, which emphasizes demos and alternate takes of songs from Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, leaving behind demos of songs Lennon gave away, including “I’m the Greatest” and “Goodnight Vienna,” which he handed over to Ringo, and songs that never made it to one of his records. Ultimately, this is nitpicking because Signature Box is handsomely produced and contains the best-sounding Lennon remasters – remastered by the team that did the acclaimed 2009 Beatles remasters, using the original mixes, not the recent remixes – which is enough to make this more than worthwhile for the serious Lennon fan.

Twenty years on, Kiss Of Death still hits with the same force it did in 2006 - raw, loud, uncompromising Motörhead at full throttle.
To mark the album’s 20th anniversary, Motörhead are releasing brand-new expanded editions of Kiss Of Death on July 3rd, available as a newly half-speed mastered double LP and expanded 2CD set. Both formats celebrate one of the most crushing records of the band’s later era, while adding something fans have never heard before: a previously unreleased live recording from the band’s appearance at Lowlands Festival 2007 in the Netherlands.

Phish The preeminent jam band of the 1990s and early 21st century, Phish have built not only a wide-ranging and inventive body of work, but also inspired a unique and devoted fan culture similar to that of their forebears, the Grateful Dead. Formed in Vermont in the mid-'80s, Phish nurtured an ever-expanding grassroots audience who were drawn to their sterling musicianship, quirky personality, and spontaneous free-form improvisations, which included elements of psychedelia, jazz fusion, funk, progressive rock, folk, country, and blues. Building on the Dead's template, the quartet placed a greater emphasis on live performance than studio work and encouraged fans to tape and trade recordings of their concerts. By the turn of the century, Phish were one of the top-drawing live acts in the U.S., and despite their preference for the stage, they had also produced a number of strong studio efforts including Billy Breathes (1996) and Farmhouse (2000).

A double-disc collection of unheard live performances from Robin Trower's commercial peak of the late '70s, State to State: Live Across America 1974-1980 divides pretty neatly into an eight-song set from Philadelphia in 1974 on disc one, supplemented with three California cuts from the same year, then six songs from Illinois in 1976 on disc two, rounded out by two 1977 Oklahoma tracks and six cuts from Missouri in 1980. The states alone suggest how deep in the trenches Trower was in the '70s, playing venues –- and states -– that weren't glamorous but certainly had a yen for his elongated Hendrixian blues rock. State to State spans locations and years, not to mention bandmembers, but there's a unity to the 24 songs because each cut captures a guitarist eager to dismiss the basics of a song and get down to the chords so he can just jam. For those Trower fans who enjoy endless solos and overamped blues rave-ups, this shouldn't be missed.

Coldplay’s Parachutes Tour was the first concert tour undertaken by the band. It was announced on 1 June 2000 and played in support of their debut album, Parachutes, following the unnamed concert run they co-headlined with Welsh band Terris. They mostly performed at clubs, theatres and festivals, while the set list included all tracks from the concert run's namesake album along with songs from The Blue Room EP, plus covers and unreleased material. After numerous one-off performances and a few shows with Icelandic girl group Bellatrix, Coldplay was part of the NME Premier Tour in January 2000 and embarked on a co-headlining run with Terris in March. On 27 April the band announced their first headlining tour would be coming to the United Kingdom right after supporting Muse on their Showbiz Tour. The tour ran from June 2000 through December 2001 and was a hugely ambitious jaunt for what was essentially a new band, having only formed in 1998, and released their debut album in 2000. They performed on four continents (Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia) and played a total of 136 shows in all. Among the very finest of these was Coldplay’s concert in Reykjavik, Iceland, on August 22nd, 2001. Performing at the city’s Laugardalshöll venue, the concert was a triumph and the entire event was recorded for local FM Radio Transmission. Previously unreleased this superb show is now available on this new CD for the first time.
