Erich J. Wolff’s name will be unfamiliar to many but in the 1920s an authoritative reference book on popular art song ranked his compositions fourth, behind Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler. The first volume in this series of Wolff’s Complete Songs introduces a composer of astonishing gifts whose Romanticism is as daring as his formal sophistication. Wolff’s songs are lyrical, serene and full of melodic beauty, coupled with piano writing that is both virtuosic and atmospheric.

Orfeo in Gluck’s opera Orfeo & Euridice has become a signature role for Jakub Józef Orliński on stages around the world. Now the countertenor embodies the mythical Greek bard in a recording that for him is the realisation of a dream. Made in his native Warsaw, it is conducted by the dynamic Stefan Plewniak and the instrumentalists and chorus are drawn from his ensemble Il Giardino d’Amore. The roles of Orfeo’s wife Euridice and the god Amore are taken by two further rising stars of the opera and concert stage: the sopranos Elsa Dreisig and Fatma Said. Orliński has acted as producer, casting director, and, with Stefan Plewniak, joint artistic director of the recording. “One of my great dreams as a student was to sing the role of Orfeo,” says Orliński, “and now I’ve been lucky enough to perform Orfeo & Euridice in different settings … Working on those different versions I achieved my very own interpretation. I knew that I would love to create my own personal version of the piece, to record my dream role, expressing myself in the way I wanted … I had a clear vision of what I wanted to do with it and how. The most important thing for me as a musician is to have great collaborators, and I couldn’t imagine a better team. Everyone was so willing to make the most of every single take during our long recording sessions. I am really grateful that I can work with people with so much passion … And now I invite you to follow Orfeo on his journey and listen to what the power of love can do.”

The tracklisting for Waiting In The Sky (Before The Starman Came To Earth) runs differently from the Ziggy Stardust album and features four songs that didn’t make the final album.
On Side 1, in the place of ‘Starman’, one of the last three tracks recorded for the album in February 1972, is ‘Round and Round’, a Chuck Berry cover. The track was finally released on a single as the B-side to ‘Drive-In Saturday’ on 6th April, 1973. Initially, closing Side 1 of the album was Bowie's version of Jacques Brel’s ‘Amsterdam’, which would later appear as the B-side of ‘Sorrow’ on 12th October, 1973.

Transatlantic is an intermittent, international prog rock supergroup comprised of drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), keyboardist/guitarist Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard), guitarist Roine Stolt (Flower Kings), and bassist Pete Trewavas (Marillion). They share lead vocals. The band's music weds vintage and neo-prog to fusion, progressive metal, and hard rock in long, knotty, suite-like constructions that more often than not last for over ten minutes. Their debut album, SMPT:e, appeared in 2000. 2001's Bridge Across Forever was followed by a European tour and live album. The band went on hiatus from 2003 to 2009, re-emerging with The Whirlwind and tours of England, Europe, and the U.S. Kaleidoscope appeared in 2014, followed by a world tour that included a gig on the Portnoy-curated "Progressive Nation at Sea" cruise. Members worked on projects with their primary bands over the next five years, and re-emerged in 2021 with the ambitious Absolute Universe in two distinct versions.

What’s Love Got To Do With It (30th Anniversary Edition) will be released on multi-formats including the 4CD + DVD Deluxe package featuring CDs of the Original Album Remastered, B-sides, Remixes and Rarities, ‘What’s Love, Live’ plus a DVD with ‘What’s Love, Live’ from Blockbuster Pavillion, San Bernadino, California. 15th September 1993 plus promo videos. No American rock group ever started with as much daring or musical promise as Blood, Sweat & Tears, or realized their potential more fully – and then blew it all as quickly. From their origins as a jazz-rock experiment that wowed critics and listeners, they went on – in a somewhat more pop vein – to sell almost six million records in three years, but ended up being dropped by their record label four years after that. Blood, Sweat & Tears started as an idea conceived by Al Kooper in July of 1967. An ex-member of the Blues Project, Kooper had been toying with the notion, growing out of his admiration for jazz bandleader Maynard Ferguson, of forming an electric rock band that would include horns and use jazz as the basis for their work. He planned to pursue this in London, but a series of New York shows involving some big-name friends didn't raise enough money to get him there. He did, however, find three players who wanted to work with him: bassist Jim Fielder, Blues Project guitarist Steve Katz, and drummer Bobby Colomby. Kooper agreed, as long as he was in charge musically. The horn section featured Fred Lipsius (saxophone), with Randy Brecker and Jerry Weiss on trumpets and flügelhorns, and Dick Halligan playing trombone. The new group was signed to Columbia Records, and the name "Blood, Sweat & Tears" came to Kooper after a jam at the Cafe au Go Go, where a cut on his hand left his organ keyboard covered in blood.

Blood, Sweat & Tears is a jazz-rock American music group. They are noted for their combination of brass and rock band instrumentation. The group recorded songs by rock/folk songwriters such as Laura Nyro, James Taylor, The Band and the Rolling Stones as well as Billie Holiday and Erik Satie. They also incorporated music from Thelonious Monk and Sergei Prokofiev into their arrangements.

Formed 1968 in New Jersey as Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show, disbanded in 1985. Their name was shortened in 1975 to Dr. Hook.

My Morning Jacket Hailed as the new heroes of the alt-country scene when they debuted in the late 1990s, My Morning Jacket have matured into an eclectic, sonically diverse ensemble whose work encompassed indie rock, psychedelia, folk, blues, and even dashes of funk and prog rock. Led by songwriter and lead vocalist Jim James, My Morning Jacket's music is most strongly rooted in Americana, with Neil Young, the Band, and the psychedelic end of the '60s folk scene as obvious reference points. A 25x14cm booklet said to be "Limited Bookset 126/350".This great bootleg I just found in a very small record shop for 65Ђ while on summer holidays in the south of France.Seems to me to be an upgrade to what's been uploaded yet, but I let you listen to it and judge by yourself.I find these are tremendous shows in which Bowie plays two different sets with almost all the songs used during the first part of the tour.Sorry for the artwork, I couldn't scan it my scanner being out of order. so I simply took photos of it, think it'll be alright though…

Dr. Hook is a typical band that everyone has a number of hits to sing along. Not surprising, because between 1971 and 1983 the band scored no fewer than 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, 6 of which reached the top 10. Also in Europe, the band was immensely popular. In England, the band also scored six top 10 hits and 11 singles in the Netherlands took the hit list, three of which reached the top three. All the singles that the band released in that period, together with a number of essential album tracks come together on the first two discs of this "Dr. Collected Hook, "including" Sylvia's Mother ',' Sharing The Night Together "," When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman ',' A Little Bit More "and" Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk. On the third disc are again collected some rarities, which many now appear for the first time on CD and two songs are completely available for the first time. Unique is the track 'Sylvia's Father, "in which half the evergreen story suddenly switches from' Mother 'to' Father '. This live version was recorded in 1974 in Amsterdam.
