Robert Schumann One of the great composers of the 19th century, Schumann was the quintessential artist whose life and work embodied the idea of Romanticism in music. Schumann was uncomfortable with larger musical forms, such as the symphony and the concerto (nevertheless, representative works in these genres contain moments of great beauty), expressing the full range of his lyrical genius in songs and short pieces for piano. Schumann's extraordinary ability to translate profound, delicate – and sometimes fleeting – states of the soul is exemplified by works such as the song cycle Dichterliebe (A Poet's Love), after Heinrich Heine, and his brilliant collections of short piano pieces, including Phantasiestücke (Fantastic Pieces), Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood), and Waldszenen (Forest Scenes).

CSNY SET & NY SOLO SET FROM BRIDGE SCHOOL 1988 An occasional quarter who performed their second ever gig at the original Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young have released just three studio albums together across more than fifty years, yet remain an iconic collective made up of course of four highly respected musicians. More often touring together and playing one-off gigs than recording, CSNY made one such appearance at the second Bridge School Benefit Concert, organised by Neil Young, and his late wife Pegi.

2015 release, the first installment in a new archival series celebrating Jerry Garcia's magical 13 night run on Broadway. On Broadway: Act One presents three complete, previously unreleased sets from the October 28th, 1987 performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in NYC: the early and late Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band sets and the Jerry Garcia Band's electric evening set. Highlights are many, but include "I Ain t Never", "Bright Morning Stars", "Run For The Roses" and Bob Dylan's "Tangled Up In Blue".

Most UFO fans consider the only real lineup to be when guitarist Michael Schenker decides to grace the band with his presence. And truth be told, this is a valid point – the group's best work seems to occur whenever the unpredictable guitarist is present, whether it was in the '70s (1977's Lights Out, 1979's exceptional Strangers in the Night) or his mid-'90s re-entry (1995's Walk on Water).

A band from Yorkshire, formed in 1965 under the name The Shots, was also called Chords Five. Since 1967 - The Smoke (which means London in local slang). It's Smoke Time is their only LP from 1967 + singles. The very first forty-five My Friend Jack immortalized The Smoke in the annals of psychedelia - not so much because of its musical merits, but thanks to the line "My friend Jack eats sugar lamps", which caused indignation of the BBC censorship, which banned the song and unwittingly enveloped The Smoke in an atmosphere of heroism. As a result, The Smoke boycotted by radio stations were able to achieve greater popularity on the continent, especially in Germany - where the album It's Smoke Time was released, which has not yet been released in England. The band's subsequent UK releases did not generate the same hype as My Friend Jack. An interesting song is Utterly Simple, written by Dave Mason and featured on the Traffic album "Dear Mr. Fantasy". Although it was never released as a single, it can be heard on various psychedelic compilations. The preserved material paints The Smoke as a musically diverse, rather tough (sometimes garage) band capable of composing a good melody, conveying concert drive to the listener and knowing the measure when using studio effects. After the breakup of the band, none of its members left any noticeable traces in music anymore, with the exception of drummer Jeff Gill, who became the sound engineer of the famous disco band Boney M.

Jerry Lee Lewis The wildest star among the first wave of rock & rollers – not for nothing was he nicknamed "The Killer" – Jerry Lee Lewis defied the odds and outlived all of his peers, a fate he seemed determined to outrun for a good portion of his long career. He came on like a supernova in the late 1950s, scoring three successive Top Ten singles that crystallized the ferocious excitement of rock & roll. The very titles of "Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' On," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Breathless" teased their feral, dangerous nature, a fire that Lewis brought out in his live performances where he kicked out his piano stand and performed on top of his instrument. Lewis' fall was as sudden as his rise. Just as he was poised to snatch the crown from Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee fell to earth when the press discovered he'd married his 13-year-old cousin.

Santana Arriving at the twilight of the 1960s, Santana were psychedelic pioneers who ushered Latin rock into the mainstream with their first three albums: Santana, Abraxas, and Santana III. Thanks to their appearance at Woodstock, their eponymous album was a smash hit right out of the gate, with its single "Evil Ways" making it into the Billboard Top Ten in 1969. They remained at the top of the charts until 1973, when leader and namesake guitarist Carlos Santana began exploring esoteric, spiritual jazz fusion on his own.
