WIRED is a hard reset for Basement. It marks the British band’s first album in eight years, a reunion with their original label Run For Cover Records, and a return to making music with the unbridled passion and creative intuition that's always animated their best material. Since forming in 2009, Basement have always been the same five friends – vocalist Andrew Fisher, guitarists Alex Henery and Ronan Crix, bassist Duncan Stewart, and drummer James Fisher – with the same alchemic bond. A remastered version of the Manchester band’s LP released on May 19, include rare and unreleased recordings. The reissue is the first in the new Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings, with Oasis‘s follow-up albums ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory)?’ and ‘Be Here Now’ to also be reissued later this year.
The 20th anniversary edition of ‘Definitely Maybe‘ will be available as a standard CD, a three-disc Special Edition version including the rare recordings and demos, a 12″ vinyl LP featuring all the bonus CD content as a free download, and a Deluxe Box Set which features the LP and the CDs. Among the bonus content included in the reissue is a disc featuring the band’s stand-alone single ‘Whatever’, unheard acoustic versions of the tracks ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Shakermaker’ recorded in Paris, an early demo of ‘Half The World Away’ recorded in Noel Gallagher’s Tokyo hotel room, a demo of the extremely rare song ‘Strange Thing’ and a live recording of ‘Sad Song’ show at Manchester Academy

Nick Cave Australian singer and songwriter Nick Cave has proved to be one of the most enduring and influential talents to emerge from the post-punk era. In addition to being a remarkably consistent recording artist, his songs have been covered by everyone from Josh Groban, PJ Harvey, and Johnny Cash to Arctic Monkeys, Metallica, and Chelsea Wolfe, to name a few. However, his often dramatic, romantic, and/or harrowing tomes sound best on his own recordings. Accompanied by his ubiquitous backing band the Bad Seeds, Cave's style is inimitable as it ranges across a spectrum that includes noisy, clattering, but extremely musical rock – equal parts mutant rockabilly, garage, indie, post-punk, and cabaret – as well as striking romantic balladry and broken blues, sometimes all on the same recording (1986's Your Funeral, My Trial).

As the leader of the Jam, Paul Weller fronted the most popular British band of the punk era, influencing legions of English rockers ranging from his mod revival contemporaries to the Smiths in the '80s and Oasis in the '90s. During the final days of the Jam, he developed a fascination with Motown and soul, which led him to form the sophisti-pop group the Style Council in 1983. As the Style Council's career progressed, Weller's interest in soul developed into an infatuation with jazz-pop and house music, which eventually led to gradual erosion of his audience - by 1990, he couldn't get a record contract in the U.K., where he had previously been worshiped as a demigod. As a solo artist, Weller returned to soul music as an inspiration, cutting it with the progressive, hippie tendencies of Traffic. Weller's solo records were more organic and rootsier than the Style Council's, which helped him regain his popularity within Britain. By the mid-'90s, he had released three successful albums that were both critically acclaimed and massively popular in England, where contemporary bands like Ocean Colour Scene were citing him as an influence. Just as importantly, many observers, while occasionally criticizing the trad rock nature of his music, acknowledged that Weller was one of the few rock veterans who had managed to stay vital within the second decade of his career.
