The classic hits of Frank Sinatra are presented with style and grace in an intimate jazz trio setting. A variety of tempos are showcased. There was no wasted energy or unnecessary or exaggerated solos; just bluesy, assertive, muscular arrangements, accompaniment, and ensemble segments. Highlights included "Vibraphone Blues," "Trick or Treat" and "Swingle Jingle," in which Hampton shifted from vibes to piano.

King, Shemekia Copeland, Jimmy Johnson, Son Seals, Willie Kent and a who's who of today's Chicago Blues! Mike is an extraordinary blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He wrote most of the material on Self Made Man including the title track where he sings ''I'm a self made man and I made myself have the blues''. Mike is accompanied by his regular group including Brian James, keyboards; Larry Williams, bass; Cleo Cole, drums and special guest Omar Coleman, harmonica on three songs.

El Juicio (The Judgement) is an album by pianist Keith Jarrett recorded in 1971 and released in 1975. On four days in July and one in August 1971, Jarrett went into the Atlantic Recording Studios with his trio (Charlie Haden and Paul Motian), plus Dewey Redman on tenor saxophone, and produced enough music for three albums: The Mourning of a Star (released in 1971), El Juicio (The Judgement) and Birth (released in 1972). Accordingly, the 1971 sessions mark the emergence of what would be later called Jarrett's "American quartet."

Martin Barre is a renowned English guitarist best known for his long-standing role in the iconic rock band Jethro Tull. Born in Kings Heath, Birmingham, on November 17, 1946, Barre’s extraordinary guitar skills and innovative techniques have made him a legendary figure in rock music. Martin Barre began his musical career playing the flute and saxophone before transitioning to the guitar. His early years were spent performing in various bands, where he honed his craft and developed his unique style. In 1968, Barre joined Jethro Tull, a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of an illustrious career. His signature riff in “Aqualung” is celebrated as one of the greatest guitar riffs in rock history.

Psychedelic experimental band from Stockholm, Sweden founded in 2008. They started out as a trio, consisting of Max Månk (bass, organ), Claes Mikael (drums) and Walther William (guitar, organ). First the band was in raw instrumental blues tuned music, but soon they moved over to a psychedelic folk inspired territory. Then singer Mikaela joined and finally they found the sound and style reflected in their music today. The first result is their debut album 'Woodlands', released on TRAIL Records in 2012. Here they offer eleven songs which are reflecting their love for 60s psychedelia, with a preference on Pink Floyd especially, as the band name states. Also reminiscent of the endless Swedish woods the tunes are highly melodic, thus featuring a typical Nordic melancholy.

Real masterpieces of music always leave the handwriting of the artist. The musician Roland Schmidt who lives in Lübeck, Germany, achieved this already with his debut album. Now, five albums later, the tradition is being continued with “Universal Flow”. It sounds like Faber instantly. The musician adventures sound technical experiments and interrupts his album with different moods which only unfold in combination with traditional electronic music. Catchy melody patterns repeat unremarkably during the runtime of the album and fuse all together. Faber’s music hopefully never grows up which is fully appreciated.

During the first half of the nineteenth century Sigismund von Neukomm was one of Europe’s most highly regarded composers. Although he maintained an intimate artistic friendship with Joseph Haydn until the older composer’s death, he was a composer with a mind of his own and full of originality. This fact is very convincingly demonstrated by his four orchestral fantasies presented here which he termed an ‘Essay in a New Genre’. Here we encounter Sturm und Drang and anticipations of romanticism in their purest form.
