In October 1967 in Baden-Baden, Germany, Krzysztof Komeda recorded the jazz and poetry project Meine Süsse Europäische Heimat – My Sweet European Homeland. It would soon prove Komeda’s final European creation - in a sense, the composer’s farewell to Europe.

It is an open secret that when recording an album, a producer often "thinks about the future" and uses the studio session to record much more material than what is strictly necessary for one album. This was also the case with the recording of "Saxesful", the 2018 album of the Polish trumpeter, composer, leader, publisher and record producer Piotr Schmidt. After a break related to the coronavirus pandemic, and after the recent death of his father, Polish jazz icon, Professor Andrzej Schmidt, whom I had the honor of meeting more than once, Piotr returned to the unreleased recordings of the "Saxesful" session and released a continuation of this album, partly in tribute to memory his father.
