Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, which is located in the northeast of the country - known for its inimitable enthusiasm and love for heavy metal. There are a lot of fans, clubs, magazines, and, of course, competing bands here. It was in this city that the Emerald Sun group was formed in 1998. The band has carved a place at the top of the local metal scene after numerous impressive and powerful shows.

In 2003 and 2004, Emerald Sun released two demos, "Sword Of Light" and "High In The Sky", which received extremely good reviews in metal magazines around the world. Having heard their powerful melodic power metal for the first time, the Germans Helloween are immediately remembered in their best times. After several gigs with Manowar, Rhapsody of Fire, Edguy, Grim Reaper, Omen and Cynic, the band played at many festivals, including The Rockemon, March Metal Day, Metal Up Your Ass and The Maximum Rock Fest.

In January 2005, Emerald Sun went to Nemesis Recording in Kavala to record their debut album with producer Tasos Karapapazoglou (Nemesis, Elwing). His skilled management illuminated the new songs, and mastering by RD Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Jack Starr, David Chastain…) gave them a powerful and simply amazing sound. "Escape From Twilight" sounded so convincing that Limb Music Products agreed to a long-term collaboration with the band. The release of the album in Europe took place in March 2007, for Japan the release was scheduled for May of the same year.

Following the successful release, Emerald Sun received the Best Discovery Group award at the Greek Mainhill Awards. Moreover, in the online version of the third Heavy Metal Eurovisions Song Contest among participants from 40 countries, Emerald Sun took second place with the song "Scream Out Loud". In support of the album, the guys visited many European countries.

In March 2009, Emerald Sun began work on their second album. This time the recording took place in Germany at the Maranis studio under the direction of Dimitri Liapakis. At first, all parts were recorded, except for the vocals, which caused disagreements in the team. In September, the Emerald Sun reported that vocalist Jimmy Santrazami was no longer a member of the band. He was replaced by Stelios "Theo" Tsakirides. The new album was called "Regeneration", which symbolizes a new stage in the history of the group. The album was released in February 2011 on the new label Pitch Black Records.

In March, Emerald Sun had to say goodbye to Teo Savage and Jim Tsakirides. They were replaced by Pavlos Gewrgiades and Sefis Gioldasis, who showed their skills on February's Hellenic tour.
