Filmed at prestigious Carnegie Hall, this 1995 concert captures the magic of French crooner Charles Aznavour, who delivers 27 songs – including many numbers that he composed such as "La Mamma," "She" and "La Bohème." Still a charismatic entertainer in his 70s, Aznavour serenades his audience with French and English language melodies. Additional selections include "Mon Emouvant Amour," "Isabelle," "Ave Maria" and "Still I Cling to You."

This DVD was absolutely mesmerizing. The song selection was nicely varied between English, French and Spanish language. I have been fortunate enough to see his stage show in person, but in many ways this DVD was more fulfilling. I highly recommend it!

The best video record of Aznavour's concert life capturing a memorable performance at Carnegie Hall. The wide range of material spans his long career; the intimate, nuanced performance is a tribute to his talents as a singer, writer and actor. The impeccable orchestrations enhance the musical variety. And Aznavour himself? Beautiful. Brilliant. Perfect.

Charles Aznavour gave this historical recital , an edging of transcendental. From 1995 and sold out, the recital composed by 27 songs is a real journey throughout his memorable and distinguished artistic trajectory.

He belonged to that unforgettable post war generation of superb singers: Edith Piaf, Juliette Greco, Yves Montand, Georges Brassens and Jacques Brel, among the most representative ones.

His impeccable jauntiness, inimitable refinement and eloquent magnetism convey us to the very core of every song, where the interpreter not only sings but depicts before us in flesh and soul the tragedy, sorrows and little joys that loves brings.

I have always been a big fan of Aznavour, since I am old enough to reason by myself. So, my worthy reader, if you love the craft of this giant of the French song book, don't let it pass away.

Be my guest!
