First released in 2018, this album documents Camarón de la Isla and Tomatito's historic performance at the prestigious Montreux Festival, which took place on July 6, 1991. Produced by Quincy Jones, Claude Nobs, and Pino Sagliocco, the album contains the entire concert, approximately one hour long and featuring seven tracks, including a remarkable version of "Soy gitano." In the final part of the concert, the singer and guitarist are accompanied by El Pele, Charo Manzano, Moraíto Chico, and Tino di Geraldo.

12 years after his album entitled ‘Italian Virtuosi of the Chitarrone’ (BIS-1899), Jakob Lindberg returns to his magnificent theorbo, specially built for him by the luthier Michael Lowe, based on an instrument preserved in the Musée de la Musique in Paris. One of the most spectacular instruments of the early baroque owing to its length and great number of strings, the theorbo was originally designed to accompany the voice, but is also ideally suited to solo performance. For this disc, Lindberg has chosen pieces by Robert de Visée, one of the great French masters of the lute, theorbo and guitar repertoire and a favourite of Louis XIV.

Since his stunning debut in 1974 with the now world-famous audiophile recordings for the Three Blind Mice label, Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has built a career that now spans four decades. This live set by the Yamamato Trio, recorded at Jazz Is in Yokohama on November 16, 2019, features "Midnight Blues", "Polka Dots And Moonbeams", "The Look Of Love", "Mack The Knife", "My Foolish Heart" and more.

The second half of the 17th century in Vienna coincided with the reign of Emperor Leopold I (1658–1705). The city was an important and influential music centre with its own tradition and musical practice. Through the connections to Italy and to smaller centres within the Habsburg Empire, it was also a melting pot of different musical styles and influences. These elements, that developed fully in the representational genres of church music and theatre, can be observed also in the
harpsichord compositions.

Magdalena Kožená presents a recital of Czech songs, together with the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. The first impression of Czech songs may be atmospheric nature scenes, or stories about pretty peasant girls and village pranks, but the selection on this album demonstrates that the imagination of Czech song composers stretched far wider. For example, Bohuslav Martinů’s Nipponari were inspired by Japanese culture, whereas his folksy Songs on One Page obtain a deeper meaning knowing that he wrote them in the US, having fled the Nazi threat.

Leoš Janáček and the generation younger Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky were major 20th-century composers markedly influenced by folk music, bringing it to bear in their own creations. Their works feature on the remarkable new album Village Stories of the world-renowned Prague Philharmonic Choir, led by Lukáš Vasilek. Stravinsky’s Les noces, Janáček’s Nursery Rhymes and Bartók’s Village Scenes are brought back to life on new recordings.
