The album takes its title from the street address of the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio where Cher recorded with the legendary “Swampers.” These sessions centered on her distinctive contralto with gritty, soulful interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, and Dr. John. Though the record flew under the radar at the time, today it’s regarded as one of the finest, most authentic vocal showcases of her career.

For some reason, Neil Young decided that his 2000 tour was particularly hot, so he decided to record a live album and rush release it by the end of the year. So, that explains the appearance of Road Rock, Vol. 1, an eight-song collection recorded with an ensemble featuring Spooner Oldham on keyboards, Duck Dunn on bass, Jim Keltner on drums, and Astrid and Pegi Young on vocals – thereby explaining the "Friends & Relatives" subtitle. This band is pretty good, even supple, but this doesn't feel necessary at any time and suffers from indulgence. And it doesn't shy away from this indulgence, either, opening with an 18-minute "Cowgirl in the Sand" that only diehards could sit through. And, in a sense, that summarizes this album, since only diehards will thrill to an 11-minute "Words," a previously unreleased "Fool for Your Love," a ten-minute "Tonight's the Night," or an "All Along the Watchtower" featuring opener Chrissie Hynde on guitar. This isn't bad, but it's not really good, either, and as the third live album in one decade, it's not just anticlimatic, it's unnecessary even for diehards, who probably would find this more exciting as a bootleg than an official album.

For over 30 years, Simon Joyner has been an anomaly–a wholly independent artist focused solely on his craft. The Omaha-based singer-songwriter began releasing music in the early ‘90s, and has walked an unbroken line ever since. Joyner’s songs of quiet joy and heartache have impacted different generations of fellow artists, showing up as overt influence in acts like Bright Eyes or Kevin Morby, and as flickers of shared perspectives in the Lenkers, Oldhams, and Molinas that followed.

Crooked Oak was a folk band from the North-east of England, founded in the early 1970s by singer and multi-instrumentalist Steve Evans. Firmly rooted in traditional songs and melodies, the band combined clear, unsophisticated vocals with acoustic sounds, which were characterized by guitar, whistle, mandolin, dulcimer and bass.

Reissued as a 50th Anniversary Japan Edition of the Rock classic set, the 3-disc set will offer the original album, newly mixed in DSD from original 24-track analog tapes on a hybrid SACD. The remaining two CDs will be home to a full live concert from Springsteen‘s December 12, 1975 show at the Post Dome located at CW Post College in Greenvale, NY. Lemoncello, the Dublin based duo of singer songwriter Laura Quirke and cellist arranger Claire Kinsella, release their second album, Perfect Place, via Claddagh Records. Co-produced by Ruth O’Mahony Brady (Lisa O’Neill, Gorillaz) in Dublin, Perfect Place evolves from the band’s folk soaked roots of their critically acclaimed 2024 self-titled debut, the record encompasses full band recordings that weave synths and electronic percussion into the duo’s organic sound.

Hiss Golden Messenger’s Quietly Blowing It was written and arranged by M.C. Taylor in his home studio—his 8’ × 10’ sanctuary packed floor to ceiling with books, records, and old guitars—as he watched the chaotic world spin outside his window. Between March and June 2020, Taylor wrote and recorded upwards of two dozen songs—in most cases playing all of the instruments himself—before winnowing the collection down and bringing them to the Hiss band.

I’m People is a vivid, deeply human album born from a period of rupture, renewal, and vast American wandering. Written across Bolinas, the North Carolina Piedmont, and a Santa Fe motel room, the record traces the artist’s search for clarity through landscapes both external and internal. These songs move through heartbreak, aging, fatherhood, desire, disillusionment, and the hard-won hope that remains after the spirit has been scraped bare. Produced with Josh Kaufman at Dreamland, a decommissioned church outside Woodstock, the album carries the warmth of musicians playing live in a circle, stained-glass light filtering across guitars, drums, and upright bass. Contributions from Bruce Hornsby, Sam Beam, Marcus King, Sara Watkins, Amy Helm, Eric D. Johnson, and members of Dawes enrich a sound world that feels immediate, vulnerable, and fully alive.
