This latest work by the Roman bassist and composer, entirely made up of his own original songs, represents the realization and fulfillment of the artist's long work of introspection and research (from his previous album as leader "Second Phase" to today) in which he perfected and refined his instrumental, compositional and arranging approach, experimenting with different timbral sounds through the use of particular instrumental combinations, together with musicians with whom he shared the most important and fundamental stages from the beginning of his musical career.

J.S. Bach completed his six suites for solo cello in 1723. Since then, these works have become pillars of the repertoire, influencing many of the 20th century’s works for the instrument. This recording project is a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the completion of the suites and of their far reaching impact on composers of our time. In addition to recording all of the suites, Erica Wise has commissioned six short works for solo cello, each inspired by Bach and his work.

The Swiss pianist and composer, Thierry Lang, was born on the 16th December 1956 in the small town of Romont in the canton of Fribourg. He started learning piano at the age of 5 and by 7 years old had decided to make piano his career. He excelled in classical piano studies until the age of 21 while at the same time developing a passion for jazz.

Two world premiere recordings on the new album «Swiss Treasures» by the Portugal-based Art’Ventus Quintet: The Wind Quintet by Peter Mieg (1906-1990) from 1970 and «Adagio und Scherzino» (1963) by Paul Huber (1918-2001). In addition, there is the Quintet op. 84 by Paul Juon (1872-1940) and the highly original Divertimento for Wind Quintet op. 69 (1977) by the Graubünden composer Gion Antoni Derungs (1935-2012).

Night After Night is the fifth solo album by guitarist, songwriter and record producer Steve Cropper, released in 1982.
