Hollow Souls are the musical-collective brain child of internationally respected British guitar player Kris Barras and his right-hand man, acclaimed producer Josiah J. Manning.

An intimate voice-and-piano album weaving five witty originals among six classic standards. Captures Angela and pianist Ray Gallon in a late-night, romantic mood with In the Wonder of the Night.

Since their days at Trondheim’s Jazz Program, they have known each other musically inside out, alternately collaborators and critical mirrors. This eleventh volume adds the three juvenile concertos which Mozart composed in 1771 - 72, all re-writes of keyboard sonatas by J.C. Bach. Bach had been something of a mentor to Mozart whilst he was living in London (1764 – 65) and these concertos not only draw on Bach’s thematic material, but are very much in the gallant style of which Bach was a leading proponent.

When Sun Ra released his debut Saturn release in 1957, he signaled the Arkestra’s mission for the future. The cover declared the album a "21st Century Limited Edition." The compositions on Supersonic Jazz conveyed optimism and hope, bringing a message auguring the World of Tomorrow. Ra declared this the first dimension of a fresh art form, as he set about evolving a new American music — a composite of the past and future, the known coalescing with the unknown. The album, not very well received upon release, reveals a vibrant universe of sound, with highly developed arrangements and sophisticated musicianship, especially Ra’s innovative keyboard work and John Gilmore’s astonishing tenor sax solos.

The baroque ensemble Oslo Circles is back at the Opera with its brand new concert program of captivating, surprising, slightly crazy (or completely insane?) Italian and Austrian baroque music from the 17th century.

Launched in 1995, Essentially Ellington is a free program for high school jazz bands that aims to elevate musicianship, broaden perspectives, and inspire performance.

After last year's extroverted and funky album "Be Who You Wanna Be," Stef Kamil Carlens presents a more introspective double album recorded with Nel Ponsaers and Rahmat Emonds. Featuring 14 songs—some of his own compositions and very surprising covers or reinterpretations—this album emphasizes lyrics, vocals, and a band sound primarily driven by acoustic instruments. Once again, it stands as a key addition to the already very eclectic catalog of one of Belgium’s most versatile and productive artists. Stef Kamil Carlens & The Poem will tour starting in October 2025.

Using dials, knobs and patch cords, the “Diva of the Diode” engages in an elegant dance with the Buchla 200e to produce her groundbreaking electronic music, while always remaining true to her classically inspired sense of melody. This vinyl is QUARK encoded to play in both stereo and Regular Matrix quadraphonic sound. The digital version offers a two-channel master drawn from the same immersive recording.
