Composed, performed and produced fully by the artist herself, the new album by Cosey Fanni Tutti is equal parts abstract electronic experimentation and rhythmic propulsion, finds Jon Buckland. It has been six years since Cosey Fanni Tutti’s last solo outing (and 42 since her first). This thinly veiled sequel, 2t2, continues in much the same fertile vein as her post-Throbbing Gristle output. At the same time, it also appears a little more guarded, as if the candid moments in her early days have left her more cautious. Split into two distinct halves, 2t2 combines a back half of exploratory electronics with the more rhythmic, Chris & Cosey-esque opening tracks. Formed of mournful cornet cutting through slippery drones and pearlescent pads, the subtle centrepiece, ‘Stolen Time’, perfectly bridges these two worlds. Not that the mood throughout the record is wallowing in despondency.

Born to sing, Gloria Gaynor’s passion and persistence have kept her going through thick and thin. Famously recognized as one of the Queens of Disco alongside other legends like Donna Summer, Gaynor went from singing in local nightclubs around Newark, New Jersey, to signing a deal with Columbia Records in 1971.

Celebrated Grammy award winner Ray LaMontagne will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of his seminal debut album, Trouble, with a special remastered vinyl edition. Additionally, LaMontagne will embark on the Trouble 20th Anniversary Tour, performing the album in its entirety for the first time since its release. On the remastered vinyl, LaMontagne continues, "When Trouble was initially released Vinyl was considered a dead format, never to breathe again. Digital audio was the new King. As we know this has proved untrue. The AITC film and subsequent audio release is QOTSA distilled down to their most elemental form—Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore augmented by a three-piece string section, employing chains and chopsticks as makeshift percussion instruments. Entirely unfiltered, as every song was recorded live in a complete take with no overdubs or edits.
