For his latest Steinway & Sons release, pianist Andrew Rangell presents an intimate portrait of Franz Schubert; An album that includes the expansive Sonata in G major, D 894, the late Drei Klavierstucke, D 946 and a seldom heard little gem, Variation on a waltz by Diabelli, D 718.

Moto Grosso Feio is the thirteenth album by Wayne Shorter, recorded in 1970 but not released on the Blue Note label until 1974. The album features four originals by Shorter and an arrangement of "Vera Cruz" by Milton Nascimento.

Chinese pianist Niu Niu has announced he will release his new album Fate & Hope on 7 May 2021. The recording features Liszt’s extraordinary solo piano transcription of Beethoven’s epic Fifth Symphony, digitally released today, Beethoven’s ‘Pathétique’ and ‘Moonlight’ sonatas and Niu Niu’s debut composition Hope.

Far Caspian is the project of singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Joel Johnston. Recording, playing and mixing everything himself across a catalogue of EPs and a debut record he has built upon this to become a fully self-contained and unique artist directing his own videos, shooting his press shots, creating his own artwork and starting a record label to do the same for other artists.

Those Four Guys (T.F.G.) consists of four experienced, recognized and multiple award-winning musicians - Janko Novoselic on drums, Goran Delač on bass, Marko First on violin, sopils and bagpipes, and Petar Ćulibrk on piano, rhodes and synths. The project, which started as a joke during the first COVID isolation, quickly turned into a serious author's story with 9 compositions that are difficult to place in style drawers. Given that each of them draws their inspiration from their musical background, the influences of ethnic, blues, jazz, soul, electronica and hip hop can be heard among the compositions.

This recording takes us on a fantasy choral journey using the traditional services of Vespers and Benediction as its guide. It weaves hypnotic plainchant around renaissance gems and modern masterpieces. The music of the great Renaissance masters, Palestrina, Guerrero and Anerio sit alongside distinctive voices from the twenty-first century: James MacMIllan, Julian Anderson, John Joubert, Sven-David Sandström and Matthew Martin.

Sound Dreams is an album of great relevance to me because it brings together my closest collaborators. For over 17 years I have shared with Ensemble NOMAD a professional career that includes the recording of two monographic CDs: Bestiario (Bestiary) and Pruebas de vida (Proofs of Life), released by Urtext Digital Classics in 2011 and 2015, respectively. My long lasting collaboration with guitarists Norio Sato and Pablo Garibay as well as with shakuhachi player Reison Kuroda, shamisen player Hidejiro Honjoh and koto player Maya Kimura has been equally enriching both personally and professionally. I am convinced that this recording possesses the cohesion and warmth that can only arise from a group of friends that have been playing/ creating music together for a long time.

When Franz Liszt took over the court orchestra in Weimar in 1848, the memory of Goethe, who had previously directed the court theatre, was still venerated. Liszt was therefore Goethe's direct heir at Weimar - albeit as a musician. With his Faust Symphony, which was premiered on the same day as the inauguration of the Goethe and Schiller monument in front of the theatre, psychology made its way into music; Liszt's ambition was the "renewal of music through its more intimate connection with poetry". His Faust Symphony demonstrates the power of sound, of tone painting, to evoke a fantastical, epic and psychological world.

Jamaican-born pianist Monty Alexander is a sophisticated, prolific performer with an urbane, swinging style informed by the bop tradition, as well as the reggae and Caribbean folk he grew up with. He is in top form in this 1974 studio session made for MPS, joined by guitarist Ernest Ranglin, bassist Eberhard Weber, and drummer Kenny Clare.

Not every musician can pull off a program in front of an audience that ranges through a wide variety of jazz styles, but Monty Alexander does so, even within the opener, "On Green Dolphin Street." Starting this familiar standard in a bop mode, he detours into boogie-woogie until guitarist Ernest Ranglin takes over. His lovely improvised introduction to "Emily" gives way to a much slower than typical arrangement, which emphasizes the beauty of Henry Mancini's original conception, though with a few changes incorporated by the leader…

"Chaos A.D." is the fifth studio album by Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. Although the album is considered Thrash Metal, it saw a stylistic departure from the band's earlier style, by incorporating a new groove metal sound. In 2017, it was ranked 29th on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".

"Arise" is the fourth studio album by Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. Upon its release, the album received top reviews from heavy metal magazines such as Rock Hard, Kerrang! and Metal Forces, and had achieved platinum sales worldwide. "Arise" is considered Sepultura's finest hour among longtime fans. While the music on Arise was mostly in the same death/thrash style as their previous album, it was clear that the Sepultura sound was acquiring an experimental edge. The album presented their first incursions with industrial music, hardcore punk and Latin percussion.

This release sees a selection of the 1975 recordings made in Copenhagen by legendary alto sax player Lee Konitz and tenor sax player Warne Marsh reissued in high-resolution digital quality. Both students of Lennie Tristano, these cool jazz kings weave magical, meandering melodic lines that delighted the fans who brought Konitz and Marsh to Denmark and undoubtedly continue to entrance listeners today. Clearly, Konitz & Marsh had by this stage of their respective careers taken their interest in music to a point which for the time at least was scarce amongst jazz musicians.
