This release is a source of pride for guitarist Alberto Mesirca for several reasons. First, it’s the culmination of a recording endeavour begun in 2016, which sprung from an idea Mesirca had during an after-concert dinner with his beloved, late mentor, violist Vladimir Mendelssohn, who particularly loved yet had never performed Paganini’s 15th Quartet (more like a viola concerto with strings and guitar accompaniment). Mesirca then managed to convince Vladimir Mendelssohn to prepare scores for the complete repertoire.

"Wild Boy…" is a reissue of the well-known 2016 release curated by Brian Chidester, renowned researcher and biographer of Eden ahbez. Especially for this album, Brian wrote an interesting text about ahbez's life, which definitely became the decoration of the release. With the new 2020 re-release, we went a little further and kept what is commonly referred to as studio cuts. It’s a few more minutes in the studio with ahbez himself, full of emotion and life. In addition, to the delight of fans, the edition includes an additional composition Nature Boy (Mantovani Orchestra).

Our bassist, Danny Ziemann, shares this passion for recording and engineering, and he put a lot of effort into selecting the right microphones for us. Together with our sound engineer, Gabor Halász, who has always been invested in all of our projects, we set out to create something special.
