This band were one of the major groups of the Italian prog rock scene in the seventies and one of the few Italian bands that were successful outside their own country.
"La Via Della Seta", which means the silk road, can be regarded as one long suite. All tracks are linked together and the music flows without any interruption making an imaginary journey along this road, where you encounter the ghosts of merchants, pilgrims, missionaries, soldiers, nomads and cruel barbarians exploring mysterious cities and civilizations. The music that comes along with this concept recalls the best moments of Le Orme. There's even more room for the guitars and the interaction between the piano and the keyboards is excellent while the powerful, brilliant rhythm section adds so much more to the compositions…

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mario Konrad was born June 14, 1973 in Gütersloh, Germany. Grown up and still living in Germany. After experimenting with the first synthesizer in 1989, and deeply inspired by the music of Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno and Michael Brook, own compositions were created. The first electronic ambient album "Submerging" was released on Musique Intemporelle in 1992. 80's style synth sequences combined with world nature instruments.

Easily an upgrade over "The Visitor" (2009), UFO have returned to their hard rock roots on "Seven Deadly", yet still retaining that bluesy edge they seem to have incorporated over the last few years. Vinnie Moore is sizzling throughout, Phil Mogg sounds better than ever, Andy Parker is still pounding his kit, and Paul Raymond adds his keyboard colors and occasional rhythm guitar. What more could any UFO fan want?
