…But For the Sun (stylized as …but for the sun.) is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Big Wreck, released on August 30, 2019. After lead singer and guitarist Ian Thornley, shared several clips from the recording studio through the autumn of 2018, via his Instagram page, the album's lead single "Locomotive" was released on February 22, 2019.

Previously a fairly run-of-the-mill Jamaican vocal group, the band were molded by Perry into a rootsy, Rasta-centric outfit. The polite ska rhythm of the '60s is gone, replaced by upfront rhythm guitar and bass and Carlton Barrett's exemplary one-drop reggae drumming, and Marley's vocals are tough and confident.

Ryuichi Sakamoto is a Japanese musician, composer, arranger, record producer, writer, singer, pianist, actor, and activist, based in Tokyo and New York. He began his career in the 1970s, first gaining major success in 1978 as a member of electronic music group Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO). He concurrently pursued a solo career, releasing the experimental electronic fusion album Thousand Knives. The album is named after Henri Michaux’s description of the feel of using mescaline in Misérable Miracle. It was recorded in about 500 hours, and Sakamoto would spend whole days without sleeping working on it.

Sam Most switches from his usual instrument, the flute, to the clarinet on this 1957 album that pays tribute to the songs of Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk and Miles Davis. The eight songs here are divided into two sessions: one featuring Most leading a 16-piece orchestra and another with Most backed by a sextet. Both bands were made up of a combination of East Coast musicians.

David Grisman's musical interests have been so varied that he is impossible to categorize stylistically, one of the reasons he has long described his playing everywhere as "Dawg Music". This is a bit of an unusual outing, as it consists of a trio with bluegrass/folk guitarist/vocalist Jim Hurst, Grisman (mostly on mandolin), and his son Samson on bass.

"Miles & Monk at Newport" was a combined album of a Miles Davis appearance at Newport with an appearance of Thelonious Monk, from the LP era. Despite the title, the two artists do not perform together on the LP, and they are represented on each side by separate live appearances at the Newport Jazz Festival.

My Tennessee Mountain Home, released in 1973, is the 11th solo studio album by Dolly Parton, the title track of which became one of her better-known compositions. Largely a concept album about her childhood in rural East Tennessee, the album began with a recitation of the first letter Parton wrote to her parents, shortly after moving from her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee to Nashville in 1964.
