Throughout the Sixties and into the Seventies, Jeffrey Kruger's enterprising ember label released a steady stream of singles, EP's and albums by female artists, both soloist and girl groups. Actually, he didn't get off to the best of starts - Rock-Olga's "My Dixieland Doll" (Ember EMBS 105, 1960), is one of the worst records this writer has ever heard - but he went on to amass a strong roster of female vocalists including some who made their reputation in other fields but who nevertheless made good records for ember.
