Tony (real name Antonio Čulina) does not like riffs, there are practically no riffs, he does not use distortion or any special pedals, he moves through a multitude of improvisations, opening the accompanying line-up full space for basic movement from the quintet to the sexte of a single chord and back to the frequent repetitions of ‘blue Notes’, and in order for the real blues not to be without that basic, there is more than half of the material in casual, moderate and sluggish tempos. Whether his original compositions, of which there are 5 or 4 attached treatments, everything here seems to be played professionally, giving a great charm. Anyway, this is a superbly done album without any flaw or inflated blues pretentiousness when the lead instrumentalist takes solos and improvisations gazing at the cult of egocentrism ‘I'm the best’.
