From Switzerland, the home of many well-known hard rock bands such as Krokus, Gotthard, Shakra, we are pleased to welcome ROCK-OUT: Four men, their instruments, enough electricity - and off you go! ROCK-OUT are wonderfully clear and straightforward. Is this due to their origin from the Emmental - a region where it is better to do something than to talk big? Or is it simply because of the love for rock - raw, direct, straightforward and wonderfully melodic, as big bands celebrate it, since Florian Badetscher (git, vox), Luca Gfeller (bass), David Bärtschi (dr) and Severin Held (git) maybe didn't even exist as a wet dream of their parents? That doesn't really matter either.
"ROCK-OUT, the young local heroes of Switzerland are coming around the corner with "Let's Call It Rock'n Roll". The guys have been able to earn a very good name among many music fans lately. For young and old, and not only for "Stadt, Land, Talent" on Swiss television, but also as support for Shakra and Bad Ass Romance.
What stands out in these ten songs is still the voice of Florian "Flopsi" Badertscher. Hearty, soaked in whiskey and provided with the necessary "fuck you" attitude. Musically, the foursome digs deep into the seventies, but gives the whole thing a current and very fresh look. Interestingly, as with "American Way", you now also get to work a little more melodically. Otherwise, Airbourne ("Pump It Up") or younger Krokus ("Dynamite") will sound, while the piano ballad "Tears Are The Rain" will entice the female listeners in rows into the backstage area.
It will be interesting to see what Rock-Out will achieve with Frontiers as a new label behind them. The boys definitely earned the advance laurels hard. Her joy of playing has been preserved, even if everything comes across as a trace of "grown-up". The riffs still sound the way you would expect from an AC/DC inspired band, and as long as the organ of Flopsi is involved, the guys will also be able to show off their figurehead as a strong recognition feature. However, the danger that one acts too "uniformly" with each additional album still remains at the moment.
