Remote Sensing Advances for Earth System Science: The ESA Changing Earth Science Network: Projects 2011-2013 by Diego Fernández-Prieto, Roberto Sabia
    English | PDF (True) | 2016 | 152 Pages | ISBN : 3319169513 | 25.3 MB

This book presents cutting-edge remote sensing research, outlining the advanced use of European Space Agency (ESA) satellite data in the context of climate change. The ESA, through its Support to Science Element (STSE) Programme, funds a network of young post-doc scientists pursuing 2-year cutting-edge research projects in the field of remote sensing. This “Changing Earth Science Network” focuses on the exploitation of Earth Observation (EO) data to address major issues concerning the broader context of climate change in five scientific research domains: the oceans, atmosphere, cryosphere, land and solid earth.

Tectonics of Asia (Northern, Central and Eastern Asia) by Oleg V. Petrov
    English | EPUB | 2021 | 265 Pages | ISBN : 303062000X | 107.8 MB

The book provides the results of tectonic, geological and geophysical studies of Northern, Central and Eastern Asia obtained over the last 20 years, and a Tectonic map for this area overview as well as essays on its geodynamic evolution.
These new results were obtained by an international team of specialists within the project “Atlas of geological maps of Central Asia and adjacent areas,” scale 1: 2,500,000, initiated in 2003 by geological surveys of Russia, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and South Korea under the auspices of the CGMW.

For the first time, the synergy of multi-GNSS constellations was used to develop new, more advanced tropospheric products, exploiting the full potential of multi-GNSS on a wide range of temporal and spatial scales - from real-time products monitoring and forecasting severe weather, to the highest quality post-processed products suitable for climate research. The Action also promoted the use of meteorological data as an input to real-time GNSS positioning, navigation, and timing services and has stimulated knowledge and data transfer throughout Europe and beyond.

Carbon Dating (Great Discoveries in Science) by Kaitlyn Duling
    English | December 15th, 2018 | ISBN: 1502643839, 1502643952 | 128 pages | True EPUB | 8.21 MB

Though carbon dating has only been put into practice since the late 1940s, it has since revolutionized the work of archaeologists around the world. Its profound impact has opened the door for scientists to assign accurate timeline data to found objects, enabling them to ask even deeper questions about their work and how it relates to discoveries from across the globe. Through a close examination of the fundamental principles of physics involved in radiocarbon dating, as well as color photographs and sidebars, this book transforms a complicated science into an accessible, engaging, and eye-opening ride, page after page.
