End of 2009, he released his fourth electronic longplayer under the name Jean F. Cochois (on the first two albums just as JFC) and created a unique niche suited in the wide field of the genre Ambient/Electronic for his selection. His former releases - remixes for Enigma or Ex-Kraftwerk producer Wolfgang Flür (Yamo) amongst others - stand for new devised cliches and love for the music that lives in the details. 15 songs of an artist who walks his own ways with emotional denseness and expertly flair as regards sound and rhythm. These tracks came into being as demos, session recordings and finished tracks that have somehow been fallen into oblivion after being put on tape or CDR and stored in dusty drawers. It's a mixture of mainly electronic influence and also a bit of soul and jazz. While listening to the material again Jean F. Cochois and Mole Listening Pearls had the idea to bundle some of these within a long player. The result is "Gold In The Attic".

Gustaf's second full lenght is a unique, evolved experience offering you to embark upon an odyssey through ancient and lifeless surroundings. Sweeping ambient soundscapes and delicate textures mingle with the distant shrieks of surreal machinery - conjuring up images of abandoned and forgotten places, clouded skies and dead cities where time has been standing still. A captured moment from a strange no man's land lit by a perpetual gloom, Primordial Resonance is a voyage only limited by the imagination of the listener.

The music of Jimi Hendrix with three wind instruments is a challenge, or at least a daring undertaking. He had to find the right approach to take ownership of this raw material and knead until that comes out a consistent approach, which does not alter the spirit of the original and is rich enough to justify its existence. Let us say right away, Diary respects all of these specifications by playing "in spirit", not "how to".

Cristina Branco is presenting her new record, released in Portugal on February 28th, named "Não há só tangos em Paris", rising immediately to the 2nd place on the top selling records. The international release of this record took place on April 19th, with a different name - "Fado Tango". Branco was originally drawn to jazz and forms of Portuguese music before finally opting for fado after being introduced to the music of Amália Rodrigues by her grandfather. Branco studied the poems from which major fado lyrics are taken. Branco continues to work on her fado repertory, accompanied by Custódio Castelo on guitar and as composer.

This is a CD re-release with both albums for one albums price. There are no extra features but it is still a good initiative. De Homine Urbano consists of two long epic tracks while Green Man consist of shorter songs.

Released in 1976 5 years after their second album Green Man and with a completely revised line up, Pictures From Cyclus 7 was not only Ache's best album, but the best Danish prog album period. I have heard quite a few bands from Denmark, Norway, et all and been hugely let down trying to find something along this album's lines of melodic disciplined progressive pop/rock with no self indulgence whatsoever. Ache had made two high quality if inconsistent psychedelic/progressive records in the form of De Homine Urbano and Green Man, but this line up of 6 musicians + lyricist Bo Lillesoe made what is the unbeatable album from the Nordic Realm.

Perhaps unavoidably, this double-disc album from The Durutti Column isn't an entirely consistent affair, yet it almost certainly harbours some of the group's finest material in years. In fact, Vini Reilly's guitar has seldom sounded better, whether he's artfully traipsing though classical figures on 'Catos Revisited' or shredding through 'Requiem', he sounds like a man possessed. As far as negatives go, there's an ill-advised take on Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On' encoded in 'Brother', but given how many positives there are to take from this album, the shortcomings seem eminently forgivable. On this occasion, Reilly, Mitchell et al aren't really the stars of their own record - A Paean To Wilson is of course a dedication to the late Factory Records founder Tony Wilson, and it proves to be an incredibly touching tribute, with an abundance of marvellous instrumental material scattered throughout.

Born in Louisiana, Jules began his career when he was only twelve years old, organizing bands and playing lead saxophone for audiences in and around his home town. After a stint in the US Air Force and then traveling throughout the US, Europe and Asia, Jules settled in San Francisco and has been a Bay Area favorite for over thirty years. His career spans over three decades of shared studio and stage with such luminaries as Ray Charles, Boz Scaggs, Van Morrison, Carlos Santana, Earl Grant, Elvin Bishop, Art Garfunkel and Doctor Hook. Jules especially enjoys performing live in which his varied styles, techniques and ability to play to almost any audience can be heard.

Whereas the first record was psychedelic space rock acid jams, on their second album, Gila, now consisting of mostly Popol Vuh members, offered something far more sedate. Though Conny Veit was always the leader of Gila, this one comes off much more like a solo effort. The record is a concept album inspired by the book of the same name by Dee Alexander Brown that brought the plight of the North American Indians to international attention. Complex multi-tracked acoustic guitar melodies create a shimmering, even haunting beauty in a lushly Baroque setting, while some of the lyrics are taken from various Native American texts.

Often referred by the title Free Electric Sound, Gila's debut is an amazing work, full of acid guitar freakouts, spacy organ and mellotron, exotic rhythm structures, and loads of electronic effects to fully realize the psychedelic visions. From the Floyd-ian space rock of the first two tracks the record moves into even stranger realms on the four segued pieces that make up the second side of the original vinyl.
