Build a modular FPS weapon system in UE5 Blueprints: firing, reloading, animations, inventory

    What you'll learn

You'll understand all of the essential systems and editors within the Engine itself

Implement advanced player movement and Input

Design and implement a modular weapon system in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints that supports multiple weapon types (e.g., pistols, rifles, shotguns).

Integrate animations, effects, and sounds into your weapon systems to create a polished first-person shooter experience.

Apply best practices for reusable Blueprint architecture to keep your FPS systems clean, scalable, and easy to maintain or expand.

How to apply and integrate UI into all of your systems

    Reusable interaction system

    Requirements

Do you have a computer that can run Unreal Engine 4/5? Then at least technologically speaking you have everything that

No prior programming experience needed but if you have at least a little bit of experience with Unreal Engine, that helps

    Description

This course will teach you how to create a fully modular weapon system for any type of game (but I will show it on a First person example) in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints—no coding required. You'll build systems for firing, reloading, and animation. We'll cover everything from an advanced movement system, through particle effects, weapon template, recoil, bullet magnetism all the way to procedural animations for your arms and cameraPerfect for indie developers, game design students, or Unreal Engine hobbyists. Inside you'll find a free 3D weapon pack which you can use in your own projects - commercial or personal. What exactly will I teach you to do in this course?Basic characterModular movement system with switching character values based on his movement state (walking, sprinting, etc)Interaction systemCrouching, sprintingWeaponWeapon template in which you can edit every aspect of the weaponWeapon inventory that is carried across levelsRecoilBullet spreadWeapon magnetism strength and rangeBullet penetrationAmmunition and reloading systemPickupsAimingAnimationsState machinesBlend spacesAnimation transitions Procedural animationsFXAll sorts of different effects and shaders for which I will provide everything that you would need that is not included in the base Unreal Engine (textures, meshes)Bullet impacts on different kinds of surfacesBullet trailMuzzle flashShell eject - different for every type of ammunitionBy the end, you’ll have a working FPS weapon system that you can expand, customize, and plug into your own games.
