A series of translations of nine important, representative, and practice-oriented Daoist texts. The collection consists of nine individual handbooks, the translation series proper, and an introductory handbook that the discusses the translations as a whole and serves as a comprehensive introduction to the study and practice of Daoism. This series is specifically intended to provide resources for Daoist adherents and Daoist communities to deepen their practice. Each work has been selected for its relevance to self-cultivation. Each translation follows a standard format, consisting of a historical and technical introduction, the translation, and the original Chinese text.
The series includes the following individual texts: (1) Neiye 內業 (Inward Training); (2) Laozi 老子 (Book of Venerable Masters) (select chapters); (3) Huangdi neijing suwen 黃帝內經素問 (Yellow Thearch's Inner Classic: Basic Questions) (chs. 1 & 2); (4) Qingjing jing 清靜經 (Scripture on Clarity and Stillness); (5) Laojun jinglu 老君經律 (Scriptural Statutes of Lord Lao); (6) Nei riyong jing 內日用經 (Scripture for Daily Internal Practice); (7) Yinfu jing 陰符經 (Scripture on the Hidden Talisman); (8) Chongyang shiwu lun 重陽十五論 (Redoubled Yang's Fifteen Discourses); and (9) Tianyinzi 天隱子 (Book of Master Celestial Seclusion).
