August 2005. A passenger plane approaches Athens, not responding to the control center's instructions. Therefore, two military fighter jets take off, and their pilots discover shocking information - the crew and passengers of the Cypriot Boeing 737 are unconscious.
On August 14, 2005, a Boeing 737 of the Cypriot airline Helios took off for a flight on the Larnaca - Athens - Prague route. There were Cypriot and Greek citizens on board. The plane was supposed to land at Athens airport in an hour and a quarter. Although the Boeing was detected by Greek radars, its crew surprisingly did not communicate with the Athens air traffic control center. Fearing a possible terrorist attack on the Greek capital, two military fighter jets were sent to the plane. Their pilots, upon closer examination, came to a shocking discovery - the crew and passengers on board were unconscious. Shortly afterwards, the plane ran out of fuel and exploded in the mountains near Marathon.
The investigation showed that the accident was caused by the negligence of the mechanics in Larnaca, which was not noticed by the captain and first officer. The cabin pressurization system switch remained in the "manual" position, although it should have been in the "auto" position during takeoff. This "small" omission had major consequences - 116 passengers and 5 crew members died… UK aviation expert Kim O'Neill recreates a detailed timeline of the crash and unravels the mysteries of the accident.
