In the five pieces written in 1980, Piazzolla recreates the different styles of tango in its evolution through time, reminding us of its origins in the "milonga", which, in combination with the "habanera" and "tango andaluz", constitute the creole tango.

Outlining a brief Mexican history of the orchestral tuba as a solo instrument is an adventure across unknown territory. There's no local catalog dating the former century to consult and, within existing compositions, we could only find the tuba performing as part of an ensemble. lt is the current century that frames the creation and dissemination of novel repertoire for solo tuba by Mexican composers. This production includes eight works, six of which were especially commissioned for this project.

Vicente Barrientos Yépez, born in Salamanca, Guanajuato, México. Has studied in !he Universilal Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), the National School of Music-UNAM (México), as well as aided music composition and computer music in the IRCAM Paris (France). He studied composition with Reinhard Febel, Piano wilh Michael Walter and conducting with Jorge Roller (Salzburg, Austria), Guillermo Pinto, Ricardo Zohn, Gabriela Ortiz, José Luis Castillo, Ignacio Baca, Juan Trigos (Mexico), Martin Matalon y Marco Stroppa (Paris, France).

The Estonian composer Veljo Tormis won wider recognition with his choral music in the 1960s and by the end of the 1970s he became one of the most outstanding composers receiving commissions from many countries where Estonian choruses had performed his works. His preferred genres have been large-scale choral compositions and cycles of songs

Born in Mexico City in 1974, Enrico Chapela studied at CIEM academy in Mexico. He obtained a Master degree at the University of Paris Saint-Denis in 2008. Since the year 2002 he has won recognitions at several national and international competitions such as The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowships, National System of Art Creators (FONCA-Mexico), the International Rostrum of Composers (UNESCO), International Alexander Zemlinsky Composition Competition and The Barlow Endowment for Music Composition Prize.
