Hexagon is proud to announce the release of MSC CAEfatique 2024.1. The highlights of this version include support for modal frequency domains, new test tools, native file support for Marc, and improvements to block loading.

MSC CAEfatique 2024.1 Release Highlights
Some main highlights of this CAEfatigue 2024.1 release include the following:

Modal frequency domain: The newest version supports modal stresses in the frequency domain when using solvers like MSC Nastran. This dramatically reduces disk space requirements, leading to shortened run times.
New test tools: New test tools, such as Time2PSD updates, bounding diagonals, enveloping, modal contributions, channel contributions, new stats (kurtosis), DSP calculator, and software strain gauge are included.
Native Marc file support : CAEfatigue now offers native file support for Marc file formats, including Marc H5 and T16 for lqstatic and lmtrans.
Block Loading Improvements: A new blocking loading load type has been included in the most recent version.

- Time domain modal participation visualisation at each time step (lqstatic and lmtrans)
- Support for multiple separate static load files for Ansys
- Support for multiple Nastran HDF5 files for single-input random/freq domain
- Improved performance of the Aero load spectrum for long sequences

Graphic User Interface Enhancements
- Support CPEG Abaqus element types in the fringe plotter
- A new menu item allows you to open results for post-processing from Linux
- New notepad control allows note-taking in documents
- Pages are added to documents
- Support time domain results in the CSV merge utility
- Fatigue Tools no longer requires a separate license when run from the GUI

MSC CAEfatique is a random response and vibration fatigue solver for the frequency domain plus a fatigue solver for the time domain. It works with mixed random and deterministic loadings or standard time domain-based loadings to provide fatigue life and damage predictions, as well as several forms of response statistics. It is exceptionally fast, easy-to-use and capable of handling very large models. The software also offers tools for loads management including digital signal processing, as well as a Robust Design feature that allow users to analyze the robustness of their FEA models to variations in FEA solution parameters.
