Burn Out Mama's Out of Office actualizes one important feature of jazz's legacy, the courage to renew forms of expression in a radical manner. That doesn't mean that the album is a jazz record in any traditional sense of the term: the processed beat-box rhythms on some of the tracks mirror more something like techno. After all each listener must find her or his own stance on this music.
