Tales Within Tales: Apuleius Through Time

Manuscripts by three African authors writing in Latin were copied and preserved for use in Benedictine abbey scriptoria - Terence, Apuleius and Augustine. The first two proved a great influence on the third. This is a collection of Apuleius' essays full of the grand themes of antiquity.
