Joe Kubert | CBZ | Dark Horse | ISBN 1569713464 | Pub Oct 14 1998 | 190 Pages | 103.43 MB

In 1945, we told the world, "Never again." In 1992, the promise was broken into bloody shards. That was the year the war broke out in Sarajevo, Bosnia, the year that genocide revisited the planet. It was the year that Ervin Rustemagic -- an international businessman whose clients included author Joe Kubert -- found himself and his family trapped in a city under siege. Ervin's only means of communication to the outside world was via his fax machine. As Joe began to receive these messages from Ervin, he did what he had done for years -- he put the story to paper. --

Doug Moench & Tony Wong | DC Comics | CBR | ISBN: 1401201016 | Softcover | Pub Oct 1 2004 | 128 Pages (c2c) | 86.60 MB

In the late 1980s, artist-entrepreneur Tony Wong's company Jademan released English language reprints of such Hong Kong fare as , and . After some initial popularity, the public's interest in Chinese comics waned, and Jademan ceased publication in the United States. However, Hong Kong (Chinese comics originally produced in China) experienced a resurgence of sorts when ComicsOne began releasing popular HK comics like , and to American readers. Perhaps inspired by this, DC Comics hired Tony Wong to try his hand at drawing one of the company's flagship characters: Batman. From a storytelling standpoint, Doug Moench's writing is a little bit on the thin side. Artistically speaking, however, the union between Tony Wong's Hong Kong style and the Dark Knight Detective is a proverbial match made in heaven. The Hong Kong method of mixing in traditional penciled art with full-color paintings results in a series of memorable images--the artwork is that good. If you are a fan of manhua or a fan of Batman this TPB's for you. Broomhandle Mauser's 200th scan for DCP.

Sam Hamm | DC Comics | CBZ | ISBN 156389047X | Pub May 1 2005 | 161 Pages (c2c) | 129.51 MB

Some of the greatest Batman stories of all time involve the Bruce Wayne persona and perhaps none so much as Blind Justice. It introduces us to Henri Ducard, one of Bruce Wayne's mentors on his way to becoming Batman. Despite a somewhat ridiculous plot, this trade paperback, prepared for DC Comics' then upcoming 600th issue of Detective Comics, works because the characterizations are so strong to the point of fascination, and the writing is just too compelling to put down. One of the best stories ever to come out of Detective Comics, and one of the best to honor the spirit of Batman. IGN ranks this #11 in its list of the top 20 Batman graphic novels of all time. Stephenie Meyer & Young Kim | Yen Press | CBR | ISBN 0759529434 | Pub March 16 2010 | 213 Pages (Monochrome) | 90.22 MB

The graphic novel adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's , the first book in her four-volume and runaway bestseller , published by Yen Press and adapted and illustrated by Korean talent Young Kim. The adjective is appropriate since Ms. Kim's monochrome artwork are just about perfect for the subject matter. Anyhow, just as the original books became best sellers, and the movie adaptation of these books box office hits, also set printing records: it sold over 66,000 copies in its first week, the largest debut for a graphic novel in the US, according to publisher Yen Press. It has already broken the record for largest first printing for a graphic novel with 350,000 copies. Of course you can ask any American teenage girl on the street if she has read Twilight and it would be safe to say she has (although we would much rather have them read many other books with better topics). If you're in the US you can ask your girlfriend or wife about it and chances are she's read it, too. And if she has, maybe now's your chance to curl and cuddle up with her with a laptop or e-reader and read the graphic novel.

Lamar Waldron & Rod Whigham with Susan Barrows | Donning/Starblaze | CBR | ISBN 0898653150 | 1983 | 62.53 MB

In the future, capitalism runs the universe in the form of planetary Corprostates held together by a web of trade undertaken by tachyon-driven solar sailing ships plying the perilous routes of the “Star Stream”. The Empyrean Alliance is a tenuous association of Free States, restive, politically insecure and greatly dependent on the trustworthy valour of the apolitical Empyrforce – a Navy-style peacekeeping/police militia. Enter young Burne Garrett, son of a legendary Empyrforce hero, who somehow manages to get himself in the most deadly predicament of all... Lightrunner is a riotous intergalactic rollercoaster rocket-ride which began life as a serial in the semi-pro fanzine Visions, and still packs a punch for any fan of brash, flashy space opera. It is a breezy, spectacular romp in a lavish, visually impressive package that still reads incredibly well and looks great. Those who like this particular form of chase-based science fiction are in for a treat.
