Andrzej Ślązak (born in 1985) is a graduate of the Academy of music in łódź in the class of prof. Tadeusz Chmielewski (master's studies) and prof. Maria Korecka-Soszkowska (doctoral studies).

Daniil Trifonov is a Russian pianist who won one of the prizes at the 2010 International Chopin Competition when he was only 19. This CD was recorded back then. He has had a burgeoning career since then and he has recorded two previously released Chopin CDs: Daniil Trifonov Plays Frederic Chopin &Mazurkas Op 56 / Nocturne in B Major to general praise.

Saksofonistka Alina Mleczko dała się poznać jako świetna solistka już w roku 1995 w Filharmonii Narodowej w Warszawie. Od tej pory kariera instrumentalistki nabrała wyjątkowego tempa. Mleczko ma na swym koncie doskonale przyjęte albumy płytowe: ''Wiatr od Morza'', nominowane do Fryderyka płyty: ''Siesta'' i ''Fiesta'' oraz ''Saxophone''.

Małgorzata Wasiucionek-Potera A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warszaw, where she received a degree with honors in the studio of Prof. Roman Lasocki, Małgorzata Wasiucionek has also trained with Pierre Amoyal at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. Having begun her musical education in Jelenia Góra under the tutelage of Ludmiła Sołowiewicz, Wasiucionek now holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and is an assistant professor (adiunkt) at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. She also teaches violin performance at the Karol Szymanowski State Music Secondary School in Katowice.

DUX presents here the six Bach's suites for harpsichord, called "French Suites", in a new beautiful interpretation.
This series of works, highly appreciated by experts and music lovers, has survived to our times in numerous copies prepared by the students and epigones of the Master from Leipzig. He himself probably did not even plan to create such a cycle, nor did he use its current name. These works were initially to serve as a study of the genre to improve the artistic taste and the harpsichord performance, among others, of the second wife of the composer – Anna Magdalena Bach. The French performance style, which became popular in this part of Europe in the time of Bach, was well-known to the composer thanks to his extensive musical contacts. The form of suite, consisting of a series of stylized court dances, perfectly suited the harpsichord texture, and the result were artistic and at the same time light compositions, corresponding to the tastes of both 17th-century connoisseurs and today’s lovers of beautiful music.

This album will bring listeners closer to the music of a slightly forgotten Polish composer of Jewish origin, Karol Rathaus (18951954). Some of the featured compositions are world recording premieres. Found in the archives by enthusiasts, they restore the memory of the artist and, above all, of his music.

The album is a recording of a fragment of the concert featuring theatre and film music by Andrzej Zarycki on his 80th birthday. The event took place on 12 December 2021 at the ICE Cracow Congress Centre. During that evening, compositions written for theatre and film could be heard, from Green Goose and Macbeth to Provincial Actors and Hanka. Zarycki was the creator of great songs interpreted by Ewa Demarczyk or Zbigniew Wodecki, also the co-creator of the success of the Cellar under the Rams but also a composer of symphonic, oratorio, theatre and film music celebrated his 80th birthday in Cracow. This extraordinary concert was performed by soloists (Adrianna Bujak-Cyran, Beata Czernecka, Magdalena Drozd, Piotr Kutnik, Beata Paluch, Tadeusz Kwinta, Julia Zarycka, Wiktoria Zawistowska, Jakub Zuckerman) and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra conducted by Rafał Jacek Delekta. The concert and the album are an initiative of the Cracow Cultural Forum, which documents music created for Polish stages and film productions under the project ‘The Musical Trace of Cracow’. Wladyslaw Zelenski belongs to the group of our most outstanding 19th-century composers, since he is being put on a par with Fryderyk Chopin and Stanislaw Moniuszko. The recordings presented on the present album were made on an 1890 Broadwood historical piano from the time of Zelenski from the collection of Mr Andrzej Wlodarczyk, while archival sound recordings from the beginning of the 20th century became the vocal model for the performance of the songs, in which the stylistic features of the 19th-century singing survived.

The ensemble cooperates with outstanding leaders: harpsichord and organ player, Jörg-Andreas Bötticher, violinist Olivia Centurioni, oboist Alfredo Bernardini and recorder player, musicologist and conductor Peter Van Heyghen.In Aprill 2022 Altberg Ensemble published the first CD with G. Ph. Telemann “Suites & Concerto” recorded with Peter Van Heyghen as conductor for DUX Recording Producers DUX 1761.

This is the third volume in the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio’s survey of the orchestral works of Grazyna Bacewicz. Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio was founded in 1968 by conductor Agnieszka Duczmal and originally appeared under the auspices of “Jeunesses Musicales” and Poznan Music Society. Aside from an active international touring schedule, the orchestra regularly takes part in recordings for Polish Radio with repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music.

Aleksandra Brejza is a graduate of the Department of Composition and Theory of Music of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in the composition class of Prof. Franciszek Wozniak. She participated in the Young Composer Courses organized by the Polish Composers’ Union (1988) and in the International Composers’ Courses held as part of the Bartók Seminar in Szombathely, Hungary (1992). Her output includes mainly chamber pieces (especially piano pieces and songs), choral compositions, larger vocal and instrumental forms as well as compositions for children. Aleksandra Brejza’s pieces have been performed in, among others, Poland, Germany, France, the USA, Russia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Latvia, and Lithuania. Her works have been conducted by, Michal Nesterowicz, Anna Szostak, Andris Vecumnieks, and Kinga Litowska. The composer was twice awarded in the Tadeusz Baird Competition for Young Composers of the Polish Composers’ Union for her String Quartet (1989) and Ultima moriar for great symphony orchestra (1993). She also received the 1st honorable mention and the Award of the Mayor of the City of Gdansk in the International Composers’ Competition ‘Pomorski Siew sw. Wojciecha’ for Kantyczki for mixed choir (1996). She is also a finalist of the New London Choir Choral Composition Prize 2000 (for Psalm Iudica me! for mixed choir) and winner of the 2nd prize in the National Psalmodic Competition in Katowice (2002).

Arto Noras is one of the most outstanding cellists in the world today. He studied under the tuition of Yrjö Selin at the Sibelius Academy and later with Paul Tortelier at the Conservatoire National Supérior de Musique in Paris. He came to prominence internationally after the success in the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1966. He has performed for over five decades with major orchestras and conductors all over the world, and his repertoire encompasses a large part of the cello literature. He has also appeared as a distinguished chamber musician with many of the most acclaimed musicians of our time. He has a fairly extensive list of recordings to his name, comprising several pieces written especially for him. His recordings include all of Krzysztof Penderecki’s cello works under the composer’s baton and Jeajoon Ryu’s Cello Concerto and Sonata for cello.

Grażyna Bacewicz is one of the most famous composers of the last century. She was distinguished by a bold, experimental approach to music and, at the same time, an excellent compositional technique, characterized by precision and predilection for an orderly form. This made her belong to the Neoclassical trend, which is reflected by the Piano Quintet No. 1 (1952) featured on the album. The second piece of this genre, Piano Quintet No. 2, was written in 1965 and shows a new, sonoristic approach to the sound matter, but it is still kept in Bacewicz’s elegant and at the same time temperamental compositional idiom.
