Europa Galante has recorded Mendelssohn under Biondi's direction! The program includes works written by Mendelssohn between the ages of 11 and 18.

Scriabin and Mozart: two composers rarely associated, yet the juxtaposition here seems clear when performed by Zlata Chochieva. In this first naive classique lbum, the Russian pianist is ingenious in both the cycles of fragmented variations and the more opulent sonatas or preludes. This project is inspired by the 150th anniversary of Scriabin’s birth, but Zlata Chochieva has been a fan of the Russian composer since her childhood as he was the first to appeal to her emotions as a listener and performer.Associating him with the classical Mozart - rather than a romantic composer, as is usually the case - enables Zlata Chochieva to conjure up an unexpected kinship that benefits from her vibrant and graceful style, rising to thrilling virtuosity. “The perfection in the phrasing, the polyphony and the formal proportions, plus the concision and the lack of superfluous notes are just some of the points that link Scriabin to Mozart", she explains.

Fabio Biondi (born 15 March 1961) is an Italian violinist and conductor. He is a specialist in Baroque and early music.

By its title and its twelve violin concertos, Vivaldi’s L’estro armonico immediately captures the imagination. Rinaldo Alessandrini and his Concerto Italiano, with the addition of high-calibre keyboardists, present the full collection with the six additional adaptations for keyboard by Bach.

French cellist Christian-Pierre La Marca was a fixture on the international concert and chamber music scenes even before signing to the Sony Classical label. He has cultivated expertise in both orchestral and chamber music, and in mainstream repertory and historical performance. La Marca was born in Nice in 1983. He took cello lessons in Aix-en-Provence and then moved to Paris. His teachers have largely been private ones: Jean-Marie Gamard and Philippe Muller in Paris, Frans Helmerson in Cologne, and Steven Isserlis in London, augmented by master classes with such figures as Mstislav Rostropovich and Heinrich Schiff.

Suzana Bartal establishes herself as one of the exciting talents of her generation. Winner of the New York Concert Artists Concerto Competition in 2013, her playing has been hailed as “brilliant, full of shades and virtuosic” by the Bonner Anzeiger. Recent performances have taken her to prestigious venues such as the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Salle Pleyel and Radio France in Paris, Merkin Hall in New York as well as Milton Court in London and she has made recordings on France Musique, the WDR (West Deutscher Rundfunk) and the Danish Radio.

This is the first time a French violinist has joined the line of prestigious solo virtuosi recording for the Vivaldi Edition. Violinist Julien Chauvin and his Concert de la Loge – founded in 2015, and modelled on one of the most celebrated orchestras of the late 18th century – here reveal all the discreet charms of an inventive concertante style rich in detail, featuring Vivaldi’s favoured instrument. This particular set of concerti highlight the consistently close links between Vivaldi’s instrumental and operatic works.

In this album, his third for naïve, Julien Martineau once again spotlights the mandolin: its remarkable repertoire, nobility of character, and natural ability as a partner. Together with pianist Vanessa Benelli Mosell, he has devised a programme truly Beethovenian in its inventiveness, honeycombed with influences and associations. Beethoven wears the crown, with four youthful pieces he wrote for this unusual duo combination and the Allegretto of his Symphony No. 7 in a transcription by Hans Sitt.

Having devoted his first recording to the Preludes of Rachmaninov, pianist Guillaume Vincent has returned to the sources - the roots of the modern piano style and his own roots as well.
