The album's production reflects this, drawing inspiration from funk icons such as early Prince, Cameo, and Johnny Guitar Watson, without sacrificing any of its contemporary edge. “It was important to me that we played the album live together, without a click track or any computer editing. As human as possible, but still modern. Basically, the opposite of AI,” says Bünger about the collaboration of the Soulounge band, which consists of Markus Kuczewski on keyboards and Hammond organ, Tim Kirschke on bass, Tobias Held on drums, and Bünger on guitar.
