Geometric Modeling: Techniques, Applications, Systems and Tools (Repost)

Geometric Modeling: Techniques, Applications, Systems and Tools by Muhammad Sarfraz
    English | PDF | 2004 | 449 Pages | ISBN : 1402018177 | 9.1 MB

Computer Aided techniques, Applications, Systems and tools for Geometric Modeling are extremely useful in a number of academic and industrial settings. Specifically, Computer Aided Geometric Modeling (CAGM) plays a significant role in the construction of - signing and manufacturing of various objects. In addition to its cri- cal importance in the traditional fields of automobile and aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, and general product design, more - cently, the CAGM methods have also proven to be indispensable in a variety of modern industries, including computer vision, robotics, medical imaging, visualization, and even media.

    English | PDF | 2004 | 473 Pages | ISBN : 3540401164 | 59.4 MB

Geometric Modeling and Scientific Visualization are both established disciplines, each with their own series of workshops, conferences and journals. But clearly both disciplines overlap, which led to the idea of composing a book on Geometric Modeling for Scientific Visualization. The editors received 39 submissions of high-quality research and survey papers, from which the 27 strongest are published in this book. All papers underwent a strict refereeing process. Topics covered include: Surface Reconstruction and Interpolation; Surface Interrogation and Modeling; Wavelets and Compression on Surfaces; Topology, Distance Fields and Solid Modeling; and others.

Computer Graphics and Geometric Modeling Using Beta-splines

Computer Graphics and Geometric Modeling Using Beta-splines by Brian A. Barsky
    English | PDF | 1988 | 154 Pages | ISBN : 3642722946 | 11.1 MB

This book explains the Beta-spline representation for curves and surfaces. This topic is important for the modeling of objects delineated by free-form curved surfaces. Such models are needed in the design and manufacture of three-dimensional parts, as well as in the generation of synthetic computer images. The Beta-spline technique follows from the earlier techniques of Bézier and B-spline curves and surfaces, and forms the latest method in this field. The utility of this technique is the capability of representing complex curved surface objects using natural input specifications. The Beta-spline technique combines powerful and general mathematics with an intuitive specification method. Mathematical underpinnings are sufficiently flexible to allow the representation of a wide class of complex shapes. At the same time, description of these shapes is achieved through the use of intuitive and meaningful specification parameters. In addition to a set of points in three-space, called control vertices, shape parameters are introduced which are parameters whose values indicate the shape of the object in terms of "sharpness" or "flatness".

Data Compression: The Complete Reference, Fourth Edition by David Salomon
    English | PDF(True) | 2007 | 1112 Pages | ISBN : 1846286026 | 8.93 MB

"A wonderful treasure chest of information; spanning a wide range of data compression methods, from simple test compression methods to the use of wavelets in image compression. It is unusual for a text on compression to cover the field so completely." – ACM Computing Reviews

    English | PDF(True) | 2021 | 241 Pages | ISBN : 1786300400 | 19.72 MB

Designing and controlling complex shapes like porous volumes and rough surfaces is a challenge. Fractal geometry is an interesting approach which considerably simplify the problem. Even though underlying concepts reduce the set possible shapes, they generate a surprising variety of shapes.
