Recent Advances in Modeling and Forecasting Kaiyu: Tools for Predicting and Verifying the Effects of Urban Revitalization Policy by Saburo Saito, Kenichi Ishibashi, Kosuke Yamashiro
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 620 Pages | ISBN : 9819912407 | 126 MB

This book is the first comprehensive presentation of a Kaiyu Markov model with covariates and a multivariate Poisson model with competitive destinations. These two models are core techniques when the authors and colleagues conduct their Kaiyu studies. The two models are usually used to forecast the effects of specific urban redevelopment on both the number of visitors and consumer shop-around or Kaiyu movements. Their Kaiyu studies originated from the constructions of a Kaiyu Markov model and the disaggregated hierarchical decision Huff model almost simultaneously around the early 1980s. This book retrospectively reviews how these models have evolved from the start to the present state, and previews the ongoing efforts to make further extensions of these models. The extension of the Huff model started from the disaggregated hierarchical decision Huff model with shop-arounds. In retrospect, the model formulated the consumer’s simultaneous choice of destinations as a joint probability. The mechanism to determine this joint probability was a recursive conditional probability system. Now the Huff model has shifted from joint probability to multivariate frequency Poisson with competitive destinations. On the other hand, the Kaiyu Markov model started from a descriptive model. Because it cannot forecast changes in shop-arounds or consumer Kaiyu behaviors, the Kaiyu Markov model with covariates was developed in which entrance and shop-around choice probabilities are explained by the respective two logit models with covariates such as distances and shop-floor areas. The noticeable point is that it can explain consumers’ probability of quitting their shop-arounds. Thus, the model enables one to evaluate the effects of urban revitalization policy that promotes consumers’ shop-arounds or Kaiyu behaviors. Furthermore, if the Kaiyu Markov model can estimate the actual numbers of flows of consumers’ shop-arounds among shopping sites, the corresponding money flows also can be estimated as economic effects. This book discusses from scratch the evolution of all these topics. Thus this book provides the basics of the Kaiyu Markov model, a tutorial for the theory and estimation of the conditional logit model, and a chapter serving as a practical research manual for forecasting changes caused by urban development based on consumers’ Kaiyu behaviors.

Effectuation als Startup-Entscheidungslogik: Einflussfaktoren auf die Entscheidungsfindung in jungen Unternehmen by Sebastian Reh
Deutsch | PDF | 2020 | 180 Pages | ISBN : 3658291842 | 2.6 MB

The Making of Experimental Economics: Witness Seminar on the Emergence of a Field by Andrej Svorenčík, Harro Maas
English | PDF | 2016 | 250 Pages | ISBN : 3319209515 | 2.6 MB

This book is the transcript of a witness seminar on the history of experimental economics, in which eleven high-profile experimental economists participated, including Nobel Laureates Vernon Smith, Reinhard Selten and Alvin Roth. The witness seminar was constructed along four different topics: skills, community, laboratory, and funding. The transcript is preceded by an introduction explaining the method of the witness seminar and its specific set-up and resuming its results. The participants' contribution and their lively discussion provide a wealth of insights into the emergence of experimental economics as a field of research.

Naturkatastrophen und individuelles Verhalten in Entwicklungsländern:Risiko, Vertrauen und die Nachfrage nach Mikroversicherungen by Oliver Fiala
Deutsch | PDF,EPUB | 2022 | 219 Pages | ISBN : 3031176537 | 13.3 MB

Co-Designing Economies in Transition: Radical Approaches in Dialogue with Contemplative Social Sciences by Vincenzo Mario Bruno Giorgino, Zack Walsh
English | PDF(True) | 2018 | 329 Pages | ISBN : 331966591X | 3.3 MB

This transdisciplinary volume puts forward proposals for wiser, socially just and sustainable socio-economic systems in transition. There is growing support for the view that the end of capitalism is around the corner, but on which conceptual and ethical basis can we interpret these times? With investigations into feminist economics, post-growth environmentalism, socio-technical digital design, collaborative and commons economics, the editors create a dialogue between radical knowledge/practices and contemplative social sciences to transgress disciplinary boundaries and implement new visions of reality. This important book challenges our ways of thinking and outlines a pathway for new research.

Digital Designs for Money, Markets, and Social Dilemmas by Yuji Aruka
English | EPUB | 2022 | 434 Pages | ISBN : 9811909369 | 48.5 MB

An innovative feature of this book is its econocentric structure, focusing on digital designs. From the outset, econocentrism is assumed to be a core engine of capitalism, like money. The new coronavirus pandemic has changed lifestyles worldwide, which are unlikely ever to return in their original form. This great transformation will change the nature of the socio-economic system itself and will be centered on digital designs.

Early Utilitarians: Lives and Ideals by Ken Binmore
English | PDF | 2021 | 97 Pages | ISBN : 3030745821 | 4.5 MB

People who put the public good before their own self interest have been admired throughout history. But what is the public good? Sages and prophets who think they know better what is good for us than we know ourselves held sway on this subject for more than two thousand years. The world had to wait for the Enlightenment that burst upon the world in the eighteenth century for an account of the public good free from the prejudices of the privileged classes.

Metaeconomics: Tempering Excessive Greed by Gary D. Lynne
English | PDF,EPUB | 2020 | 327 Pages | ISBN : 3030506002 | 5.6 MB

This book presents the Metaeconomics Framework and Dual Interest Theory, which weave the empathy-based moral and ethical dimension back into key economic questions. Metaeconomics addresses the problem of placing too much emphasis on the market or the government, and thus argues that seeing the link between ego and empathy, self- and other-interest, and market and government will lead to a more just, fair, and sustainable polity.
