In the events after Mumbai train-bombings in 2006, a man calls up the Mumbai Police Head-quarters and tells them he has placed 5 different bombs in the city all set to go off at the same time. He demands the release of four terrorists with Al Qaeda links. But, what is his real motive?

Quote: "…I am convinced the train blasts were not just a terrorist activity but it was a question. They've asked us this question. First on a Friday, then they repeated it on Tuesday. I am just replying on a Wednesday."

The film depicts an about-to-retire Police Commissioner narrating a sequence of events that unfolded on a particular Wednesday and which do not exist in any written record, but only in his mind and in those of several individuals who were involved in it, both willingly and unwillingly, and how those events affected the lives of all the concerned people.

A fascinating high-octane confrontation between two veteran thespians of Hindi film industry Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher.
