A pair of teenagers push their adolescent angst into dangerous territory in this drama from French filmmaker Jean-Paul Civeyrac. Noemie (Elise Lhomeau) is a seventeen-year-old high school student studying music. Noemie is given to strong mood swings and has already attempted to take her own life once. Noemie becomes friends with Priscilla (Lea Tissier), an eighteen-year-old classmate who has a similarly dour vision of the world. Priscilla shares Noemie's passion for dark clothing, conspicuous rejection of the values of their classmates, and the work of German romantic poet Heinrich von Kleist, who committed suicide in 1811. The two girls become close to the point of obsession.
