The WinCC/Web Navigator offers you the option of controlling and monitoring your plant over the Internet or company intranet without changes to the WinCC project.
The Web Navigator thus provides the same display, operator control and access possibilities to archives as do local operator stations. This also means that process displays for dynamic sequences may contain Visual Basic Scripts, that it is possible to access WinCC user archives, that operator activity messages are supported on the Web Client, and that the operator stations on the Web are integrated in the plant's local user management. For control applications, Basic Process Control, which permits, for example, the formation of group displays, special control-related event displays and a fixed screen layout consisting of overview area, work area and key area, can be used in conjunction with the Web Navigator. Aside from the typical uses of the Web Navigator in wide-area networks (WANs), the Web Navigator can also be used for applications which must be implemented with minimum cost overhead, particularly applications with a heavily distributed structure (water/waste water, oil & gas) or in which access to process information occurs only sporadically (building services management).
