Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) developer of solutions for design, simulation, planning and costing of sheet metal components, has announced the Service Pack 01 of FormingSuite 2014 and FTI v5.2 CATIA V5-based software.

According to the company, the new release delivers productivity and usability gains and allows companies to spend more time on knowledge-centric tasks. FormingSuite 2014 and FTI CATIA V5-Based software is the classic example of developers listening to what the users want and need, and making that a reality.

The software includes new nesting features for analyzing 2-blanks for transfer and progressive, an updated Strip Nesting engine, and calculation of more solutions for angular constraints for all nesting solutions. Major updates to Stretch Webs include parametric geometry, full regeneration, S-shaped webs, pilot holes, memory, and component extraction for managing assemblies. Performance enhancements were added to meshing, formability solvers, and springback solvers which are now fully multi-threaded to support multi-core processors. Additionally, springback compensation has now been introduced.
