CAMWorks 2013 SP2

CAMWorks 2013 SP2 | 2.0 Gb

Geometric Limited, a leader in advanced manufacturing software a announces the new release of its intuitive solids-based CNC programming solution, CAMWorks.

Since its initial introduction in one of the foremost SolidWorks World events, CAMWorks, the first SolidWorks gold partner CAM system, has been delivering unmatched productivity to its users. Honoring its continued commitment to introduce the latest in programming technology to its users, CAMWorks 2013 has further simplified machining with multi-tasking machines through the introduction of Synchronous Machining Module (SMM), including intricate control on the sub-spindle operations. With an ear to users’ feedback, CAMWorks 2013 boasts of an enhanced user interface (UI) for easier access to improve productivity. The new simulation with life-like display and intricate controls has also garnered rave reviews.

CAMWorks 2013 has bolstered an already comprehensive Application Programming Interface (API) suite, with the addition of a wide variety of APIs including one that helps interpret Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) data for our advanced users to automate significant portion of their design to manufacture life cycle reducing the drudgery of manual programming. This ability to automate has not only been harnessed for families of part but also for uniquely designed components like tailor-made devices for each patient in the medical industry.

CAMWorks combines with SolidWorks to bring the world of design and manufacturing a step closer. This has been possible due to the tight integration with SolidWorks that allows CAMWorks to store CAM data within the SolidWorks part file reducing file management and leveraging SolidWorks’ familiar interface to provide the users the best in class ease-of-use capabilities.

The text for certain buttons on the CAMWorks Command Manager in the Japanese version is not correct.
When copying or inserting 3axis operations, if the Feed /Speed is changed from Operations to Library, then feed speed gets changed in the User Interface but posted values remains unchanged.
The “Select Chip and press the D key” option in Simulation mode doesn’t work.
In the TechDB, for Z level operations, if the leadin and leadout feed rates are defined as 100% of the XY feed rates and are set to be defined by the F/S Library, then the same feed rates are not reflected in CAMWorks when Generate Operation Plan is done.
Feature If Mill Part Setups are generated automatically using MfgView for angular holes, then in some cases, their direction cannot be reversed. An error message “Direction does not match with the Part setup direction” is displayed.
The specific Machine simulation file cannot be simulated in CAMWorks 2013.
For the specific part, the X and Y values for the stock size do not correspond to the X and Y directions of the SolidWorks Reference triad.
For the specific part, extra Rapid moves are seen in Contour Mill operation when used with Rest Machining options.
Rebuild For the specific part, the mill part setup origin defined using a sketch is not updated when the dimensions of the sketch are changed and a full rebuild is done. The update is seen only when the user edits the setup definition manually.
For Z Level operations, the user defined Z limit is considered from the SolidWorks origin. It should be considered from the CAMWorks setup origin.
CAMWorks 2013 SP1 is forcing sub-tool change for all post and spindle operations.
The leadin and leadout moves are not observed for passes machining the left over material in Contour Mill Operation using the Rest Machining Option. The leadin and leadout moves are only observed for finishing passes.
For the specific toolpath, the Contour Mill operation (using the Rest Machining Method of ‘Previous Tool’) generates an incomplete toolpath when the diameter of the Flat End Mill tool is used for the previous Contour Mill operation is set to 1”.
For Multiaxis toolpath operations, when the “Point tool to rotary axis” option is checked for a 4 axis operation, then the “Cutting Direction Tilt Options” get grayed out as expected. However, when the number of axis is changed to 5, the “Cutting Direction Tilt Options” still remain grayed out without any option to enable them.
For the particular part, when the toolpath is simulated for the first time, the simulation is correct. However, if the part is simulated again after pressing the Go to Start button in the same session, then simulation is incorrect.
For a Mill Part Setup having the origin defined from a stock vertex, when the stock definition is changed, CAMWorks does not prompt to regenerate the toolpath.
For Mill Hole Feature of type ‘Drilled’, there are no feature conditions defined with spindle attribute set to Sub Spindle.
When adding a contain area for wrapped Rough mill/Contour Mill operation, if the user incorrectly enters a negative value for the wrapping diameter entity, then the error message prompting the user to enter a positive value appears several times.
When the parts saved in CAMWorks 2012 are opened in CAMWorks 2013 and posted, the indexing values are not observed. The user needs to generate the toolpaths again in order to get the indexing values.
For Turn 4-axis machine, when the RPM for a given operation is defined using SFM format and if the calculated RPM goes beyond the maximum RPM of the machine, then the maximum RPM of the machine is not used.
For the specific assembly file, when offset roughing is used along with Stay at Depth option, then for the passes linking at the same Z level the feed rate is set as zero.
For Contour Mill operations of circular pocket features, when entry and retract points are defined using hole center and spring passes are used, then the tool makes a move out of the feature and gouges the part.
In CAMWorks 2013, for 2.5 axis features, during sketch selection, the selected sketch is not highlighted on the part in the graphics area. The sketch is highlighted only after a left mouse click on the screen.
Feature If a face is picked for interactively inserting a 2.5 Axis feature, an error message is displayed stating that profiles are intersecting while visually there are no intersecting profiles. This issue is observed only for those parts where the selected face has edge is linear and its adjacent edge is an arc.
