The release includes new functionality in Aspen HYSYS software - Acid Gas Cleaning to model gas sweetening units, and Pressure Safety Valve Sizing integrated from the acquisition of PSVPlus, which allows process engineers to size pressure safety valves as an integral part of the overall process design for the first time.
Both Acid Gas Cleaning and Pressure Safety Valve Sizing are included in Aspen HYSYS in a single modeling environment with intuitive workflows. This enables users to optimize upstream, midstream and refining processes faster and produce inherently safer designs.
The 8.3 release of aspenONE software including the new release of Aspen HYSYS is available immediately.

- Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD — Provides the full installations for the aspenONE Engineering V8.0 products.
- Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering — Provides the latest full installations for the aspenONE Engineering V8.3 products and patches for aspenONE V8.0 products.
- Aspen Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0 DVD — Provides the full installations for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain V8.0.

Installing the Latest aspenONE Engineering Products
To install the latest aspenONE Engineering products:
If you do not have V8.x products installed, you must first install V8.0. Follow the steps listed below:
1. Insert the Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD
a. If your computer has AutoPlay enabled, the aspenONE installer runs automatically.
b. If you do not have AutoPlay enabled or you are accessing the installation media from your network share server, double-click on setup.exe to start the aspenONE installer.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the V8.0 installation. For detailed information, consult the Aspen Engineering Suite V8.0 Installation Guide and the aspenONE Installation Guide, if applicable.
3. To install the latest products, proceed to the next section and follow the steps to install the latest products from the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering V8.3.
If you already have V8.x products installed and would like to install the latest versions, follow the steps below:
1. Insert the Supplemental DVD: Aspen Engineering V8.3 DVD into your DVD drive.
2. You must apply the critical licensing patch in the Critical Installation Component folder. To ensure proper license usage, this patch must be applied after you install the products from the Aspen Engineering V8.0 DVD.
a. If your computer has AutoPlay enabled, the Critical Installation Component runs automatically.
b. If you do not have AutoPlay enabled or you are accessing the installation media from your network share server, double-click on setup.exe in the top folder of the media to apply the licensing patch in the Critical Installation Component folder.
3. To install the latest products:
a. Using Windows Explorer, go to folder \Engineering\Full Product Installs\
b. Double-click on setup.exe to start installation.
4. You must apply the latest patches by following the steps below:
a. Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder \Engineering\Patches\
b. Run the update agent aspenONE Patch Update.exe. This new update agent will automatically install the applicable patches on your machine.

Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
