Their 60s pals The Stones and The Who may be more celebrated, but contemporary recordings by Phil May and Dick Taylor's band wipe the floor with those of their famous peers. There's delta blues, blistering MO, the magnificently gloomy Dark Days, triumphant Seeds and Byrds covers, plus the psychedelic heaven of the twin guitars on Greenwood Tree. I could rattle on about the album but there really isn t any point. If you are a Pretty Things fan it is a must but if your tastes go anywhere near rock it is as well…It isn't just a fine album, it proves that the best of bands can continue making music and being creative well into what others would see as the appropriate time to cash in with endless tours of old stuff'.http://www.music-news.com/ –Daily Mirror The endeavours of most surviving Sixties acts are routinely dis-missed as little more than pension-pot top-ups. This makes the enduring musical passion of The Pretty Things a wonder to behold: this latest album, with its cute Dylan-sourced title, isn't likely to fund their retirements -which is a good thing, as it means they'll carry on making more. Recorded by the current multi-generational line-up using vintage Selmer valve amps,it features the classic Pretties blend of rowdy antipathy and starry-eyed psychedelia, evoked by covers of The Seeds and The Byrds, respectively.Their own material is marked by a strong Middle Eastern psych-rock flavour on tracks like In The Soukh. –The Independent This excellent ten-track collection celebrates the core Pretty Things values - a `live in the studio' ensemble recording feel that radiates a luminous energy, cut on vintage analogue equipment and 2-inch recording tape with minimal over-dubbing and an immediacy that few can dare to achieve in these days of auto-tuning and digital anaesthesia…The Pretty Things still have the remarkable energy and vitality that they possessed at the start and this new album shows none of the quiet professionalism, dignity and taste that other 'heritage' acts put into their later recordings. This is as lively, relevant and energetic music that shows today's whippersnappers how it should be done… Not to be missed.
