The composers Bonnen and Schilling mix together street traffic noise, lush strings, art-rock, electric circuit, weirdly twisted popsongs and beer-drinking sing-alongs.

Der Schriftzug des Labels OBST befindet sich auf einer Wurst, die Gruppe heißt FLEISCH und das Cover der jüngsten Produktion zeigt einen Käse. Die Kölner Band um die Komponisten Dietmar Bonnen und Andreas Schilling begibt sich eher auf abenteuerliche Klangreisen, bei denen Umweltgeräusche gleichberechtigt bzw. als kompositorisches Element einbezogen werden. Wasser plätschert, Kölschgläser klirren, Autos brummen, Türen werden zugeknallt und Sololöffelist Martin Süsterhenn klappert, was das Zeug hält. Wichtig ist auch Aufnahmetechniker Ernst Gaida-Hartmann, der sich mit Kunstkopfeffekten beschäftigt. Weitestgehend fabriziert FLEISCH spannende Space-Sounds, die einem interessanten Film entspringen, der bislang noch nicht gedreht wurde. Kein Zufall, daß die Gruppe die fünfminütige Cage-Komposition »5« spielt, denn schließlich war es jener Cage, der behauptete: »Alles ist Musik!«
Doch welche Art von Musik spielt nun FLEISCH? Jazz? Ganz bestimmt nicht! Neue Musik? Schon eher. FLEISCH-Musik? Auf jeden Fall!
