This DVD recording depicts Leonard Bernstein at his most mature in conducting and performance with the Vienna Philharmonic. Bernstein is probably the greatest 20th century musician and this adds to his position.
I'm only sorry to have never seen Berstein live, but this is a good alternative. The performances are excellent and his direction is exciting with these Brahm's pieces. I hope they release more besides Brahms.
