Motörhead - 25 & Alive: Boneshaker
DVD-9, PAL (Video_TS folder) | ~ 158 min | 7,1 GB | RS.com

Motörhead is one of a kind. A no-nonsense, no-holds-barred rock & roll band – led by legendary vocalist/bassist/songwriter Lemmy Kilmister – who profoundly influenced heavy metal and punk alike. For a thorough overview of Motörhead on home video, it's going to be difficult to top SPV's 2001 DVD 25 & Alive: Boneshaker. The core of this DVD is Motörhead's 25th anniversary concert held at Brixton Academy in London on October 22, 2000, during the We Are Motörhead tour. Lemmy, guitarist Phil Campbell, and drummer Mikkey Dee treat the capacity crowd to a 23-song set. Highlights include "We Are Motörhead", "I'm So Bad (Baby I Don't Care)", "Overnight Sensation", the Sex Pistols cover "God Save the Queen", "Dead Men Tell No Tales", "You Better Run", "Orgasmatron", "Going to Brazil", "Damage Case", "Bomber", and "Ace of Spades". Several surprise guests sit in on a few songs, including Warlock and Doro goddess Doro Pesch and Ugly Kid Joe's Whitfield Crane on vocals during "Born to Raise Hell", longtime Motörhead guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke during "The Chase Is Better Than the Catch", Lemmy and Philip Anthony Campbell's sons on guitar during "Killed by Death"; Clarke and Queen guitarist Brian May, and Skunk Anansie guitarist Ace during the final encore, "Overkill". But that's not all. 25 & Alive: Boneshaker is also stuffed with interviews, photos, bandmember biographies, "Sacrifice" and "God Save the Queen" music videos, and a special discography noting rare and obscure Motörhead singles and albums from around the world. Musical extras include Lemmy and Campbell performing "Ain't No Nice Guy" acoustically in a London studio in July 2001, and Motörhead ripping through "R.A.M.O.N.E.S.", "Shoot You in the Back", "Born to Raise Hell" (with guest vocalist Nina C. Alice of Skew Sisken), and "Ace of Spades" at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany in August 2001. One fully loaded DVD like 25 & Alive is a great example of how a record company – if properly motivated and not blinded by laziness or greed – is capable of giving fans the best possible value for their hard-earned money.
