This essential Doors release compiles three films - Live at the Hollywood Bowl, Dance on Fire and The Soft Parade - A Retrospective. The first is a collection of 14 songs - including some extremely rare footage - drawn from the group's many television performances. The second, filmed live at the Hollywood Bowl in the summer of 1968, features Jim Morrison and the band performing an extended version of "Light My Fire," plus 10 of their other most loved songs. And the third includes the Doors' last televised appearance on PBS in 1969 in the aftermath of the infamous Miami concert that resulted in Morrison's arrest for "indecent exposure." In addition, the compilation includes bonus songs: "Break on Through" (Isle of Wight track) and "The Ghost Song."

The Doors – 30 Years Commemorative Edition (1999)

Its hard to believe it's 30 years since the world lost a musical genius, just listen to what he left us- hours and hours of fantastic music….I truly wish I could have been old enough to have seen them live ( born 1969). I finished work early today to watch this DVD , it doesnt matter that it duplicates some of my well watched videos it's worth every penny….The Hollywood Bowl concert really captures the essence of the band and I was pleasantly suprised that the 2.0 digital soundtrack held up to some seriously loud volume…..The dance on fire section rocks as well with the awesomley haunting Adagio. The Soft Parade- a retrospective is compelling watching with the sheer number of little clips of the band interspersed giving an intimate feel to the music and the emotion that went into creating some of the best music around. My only criticism is the lack of an introduction by the remainding members of the band. It would have been great to see them as they are today although "The Ghost Song" contained on the bonus materials gives you a good idea. All in all an excellent buy even if you own all the videos.*Remember video tape doesn't last forever..R.I.P Jim…..
