Stan Getz with his sax, accompanied by Kenny Barron (piano), George Mraz (bass) and Victor Lewis (drums) recorded these jazz sessions in March 1989 (two years before his death), in Hollywood, for the label A & M of his friend Herb Alpert. But Alpert was more interested then launching another orchestral production by Getz, 'Apasionado', and left in the drawer that work. Over the years Alpert rediscovered the 'lost sessions', dedicated to bossas and ballads, and resolved to publish in 2003. Getz played his best music in the last years of his life and in this album plays with an unusual force and sweetness.
