Synthesizers include VCS 3 AKS, ARP 2600, Electrocomp 101 & 500, Farfisa, Yamaha FY 1, Oberheim Expander, Solina String-ensemble, Crumor and Fender Rhodes Electric Pianos, Hammond Organ and Mellotron 400.

Former researcher in organic chemistry more fascinated by synthesizers as test tubes, Philippe Besombes began his career in the early 70's as a sound engineer and artistic coordinator for pundits of contemporary music (Iannis Xenakis, Pierre Boulez, Karlheinz Stockhausen ). After the composition of a first Original Trailer for the underground movie "Libra" Besombes joined myhique Luc Ferrari and a few other musicians including David Gisse and a Jean Louis Rizet to create "The Liberation Music Workshop" theater experiments and electronic music that prefigures his disc "Pole", made a few months later with Rizet.

Halfway between the work of Brian Eno with Cluster and group krautrock experiments like Faust, the disc Rizet Besombes and delivers a trippy electronic music combining the craft groove. Forty years after the release of the disc, Besombes confirms: "We were trying to get this message that music should be done with the soul, and that is why the Besombes-Rizet disk tries to humanize technology, with a constant mix between the played and the addition of sound parts created But it was also a lack of resources, we had some synths but was rudimentary. so it was smarter to play our music to Pierre Henry slowing or altering the bands to create new sounds. "
