Stravinsky-Rite of Spring-Z Mehta-Quadraphonic mix in DTS CD 44.1/16

Igor Stravinsky- Rite of Spring- New York Philharmonic, cond. Zubin Mehta DTS CD (1978)
DTS CD (cue + wav) | Channels: 4.0 | 44100Hz | 3 x 100 MB + 5 MB | Covers included
Genre: Classical | Source: SQ encoded CD | Label: CBS

This Quad mix is more "open" than the EMI ones, the instruments are easier to localize. It seems that Good ole' Igor actually composed this to have a surround feast happening
in front of him (or the conductor).Another 1970's, this time, late 70's SQ encoded LP master from a 1987 cd issue. As with the EMI people, these guys' definition of the SPARS code was quite dubious to say the least. The middle initial stands for MIXDOWN, which they didn't, unless they used the SQ encoders from then…but- their sloppiness is our advantage….

1-Part I
2-Part II

Decoded by kap'n krunch using Lucanu's Adobe Audition 2.0 SQ script with PhaseBug VST.
As with all of my releases , there was no Noise Reduction used.

WARNING; this will NOT play in a normal cd player-if you do, you can damage the speakers with the static that it will play-you have been warned!!!
YOU NEED A DTS DECODER WITH AT LEAST 4 LOUDSPEAKERS (LF, RF, LR , RR) to appreciate this CD.

Tip: Most modern receivers have basic dts decoding, especially and crucially, if you have a surround setup.

These 1970's Quad mixes were made for only four "Full Range" speakers, which differ from most today's systems consisting of 5 small/medium satellites and a subwoofer. If your system is like this , do not worry , since the bass management will make the low frequency information go to the subwoofer, (provided that you have it set up correctly!!!).
History:
As with most of the EMI recordings from the 1970's, these CBS ones also were released ONLY as SQ encoded LPs and CD, since their compatibility made them totally enjoyable in Stereo.

Process: These SQ encoded cd's are decoded by a special process, a script in Adobe Audition, that extracts the surround channels from the stereo signal. Since this is a CD source , there is no point of making it into Hi Resolution since there is NO info above 20KHz, as opposed to LPs, which can go up to 40K. Even if it's lossy, these DTS 44/16 conversions sound GREAT and are a treat to listen to.
Maybe one day I'll grab this on LP and THEN make Hi- Res 4.0 DVD-A out of it….

You can burn this to a CD like a normal audio CD or play them back in your PC and Mac in VLC . (in Mac , also playable in itunes and DivX player)

if you want to p2p it, please credit me, but
NO MIRRORS
