The debut on the MA label of German trumpet virtuoso, Markus Stockhausen, the oldest son of one of the most important composers of the 20th cent., Karlheinz Stockhausen. "Still Light" documents both freeform compositions and improvisations dedicated to the mysterious Paracelcus, a most famous alchemist (one who attempts to "make gold".) The music, with roots in both the 20th century avant garde and improvisation, features Markus' amazing and beautiful trumpet playing. Recorded at The Harmony Hall, Matsumoto, Japan in March 1993.
